New owner + Pics
First things first:
http://www.mybrainhurts.com/pictures...x8/first%5fday
Howdy all. My first post, so I should introduce myself. Nathan, live in San Diego, been a rotor-head for a few years, watching the RX cars for the past 5 or so years with high interest. Previously owned a 93 RX-7 R1, Ducati Monster and Honda Prelude Si. I do some Auto-X on the weekends. Some of you San Diego types may remember me as the guy that watched (from across the course) his RX-7 being driven into a tree at the auto-x by a national champion driver.
Picked up the car today from Kin at Irvine Mazda. Kin is great, I highly recommend him. Kin said I was the 2nd person to pick up my car (even tho they've been on the lot since Monday morning), right behind the chief of immigration patrol (something like that), his titanium-grey model. My car is the base GT model, red.
Sent this out to a few people tonight..more to come...
This car is badness. It is not lightweight in the
torque department at all...****, I can feel it and I haven't even broken
4000 rpm yet. Whoo. And the handling...it will outhandle the RX-7. It
feels incredible. Tight, fast cornering. Tracy (my gf) even said
"Whoah." (Keanu Reeves style) around a corner. The interior, high quality
for the most part, a few bits of plastic I don't like. But feels kinda
like a bmw..nice button clicks, all easy to get to, very ergo. The door
shuts solid like a german car...we'll see in 2 years. The feel from the
cockpit..*just like* the RX-7 except the gizmo-laden rear-view mirror is
bigger (and in the way). Can't even tell there are 2 seats behind me.
HID headlights...what a difference. Never had a really rad stereo...the
Bose is nice. Mmmm, so much more to discuss later.

August 2nd. Hope to see you there. If you want, shoot me a mail and I'll help you get there, get in tech, and get on the course. It's a little confusing for a first timer.
