New proud owner of a S2 RX8
Hey, guys.
Picked up this beauty this past weekend;

I have always had one eye on the RX8, it was a last minute decision after looking at other RWD cars, particularly a few new sedans. There's just something about Mazdas, the way they feel and drive. I'm coming from a modified 220whp Mazdaspeed Protege, but I'm fully satisified with the RX8 as a car.
I already have an AEM intake/AP catless midpipe on the way, and I've just changed the trans fluid to the highly recommended Ford Synthetic. I think that I need to bleed the clutch, still, as the shifting is a bit notchy even with the new fluid.
Happy to be a part of the RX8 community.
Anatoliy.

Thanks, fellas. I'll keep that in mind. Just bled the clutch but haven't tested it out yet. It just seems that the trans is notchy over all, even with the engine off. Is that how they all are? There was a good amount of bronze in the old fluid, too. I've never seen that much in the oil of the Protege trans.

Decent springs won't affect the handling much at all in a negative way and it changes the look so much.
This one is on Stance but you get the idea.

Many people on this forum make a big deal about dropping the car, and tell everybody that their car don't look good if it's not dropped. I think that's silly. The car does look good even with the gaps.
I think is even sillier to spend tons of money on springs and shocks just for 'looks.'
Now, for guys that actually race their cars or do auto-cross (as shown in some of the pics above), then that's a whole different story. They do suspension upgrades for performance, and usually those upgrades have the byproduct of lowering the car. That makes a lot of sense to me.
Me...I don't see myself spending $$ lowering mine anytime soon... unless I was ready to start doing some serious auto-cross, or going to the track on a regular basis to have fun.
My car is still beautiful to me and that's all it counts

It will affect the handling if you don't do it right.

Just got a proper alignment, in my opinion of;
Front:
-.9 deg. camber (max of with stock height)
0 toe
6 deg. caster
Rear
-1.5 deg. camber
.05 toe in each side
Any opinions?
