New purchase question
There is a beautiful Titanium Gray RX-8 begging me to take it home. The dealer has made me a good offer (below MSRP) and I'm ready to buy.
But... the car has over 24 miles on it. Which isn't near as bad as a red 8 that had over 240 miles on it. I have driven the red one and could tell that it had been driven a little hard.
I guess I'm concerned about the 24 miles on the gray 8. Is that too much? I know it only takes one time to overwork the engine and cause permantent damage.
Thanks for your opinions!

My honda Pilot had 40, my WRX had 28 and my Nissan 200SX had 72.....low miles like these imply moving the car around in storage and dealer transfers. 240 implies a test drive vehicle - stay away unless deeply discounted. You should be fine at 24, but I would ask anyway, just to make yourself feel better.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I hope to avoid visiting the dealer if at all possible for repairs. I live over 60 miles from the nearest dealer. I miss an entire days worth of work whenever I visit the repair shop.
I've been very happy with all four of my Fords (of which I currently own a fully-loaded 2003 Explorer Sport Trac 4x4). I've never taken any of them to the dealer for any reason.
However, I've had bad luck with any GM product. The last one I owned it took them 12,000 miles to figure out why the steering wheel shook violently whenever traveling over 40 MPH. The real kicker was the time my GrandAm (when the new style came out in 1998) had no brakes at all when I tried to stop. Fortunately I reached over and grabbed the emergency brake to bring it to a halt. We found out that the battery had leaked some acid and ate through my brake lines! It had to be towed.
Can't wait to get an 8! Haven't slept good in days!
I hope I get a good one!!! :D
