Mazda is currently working on creating a rotary concept "ENGINE". Besides the hydrogen rotary and the current Renisis. Mazda is in the process of creating a rotary that is more efficient, has more power, 15% more fuel efficient,and lighter.
The rotary concept is just the engine so i wouldnt know what car it would be on. Judging from past experiences from rotarys Mazda might ever put this into production. Earlier this year at an event Some of mazdas car were being ran at willow spring and a mazda rep. announced the mazdaspeed lineup. which includes the rx8. I wonder if it is still going to happen with all the problems mazda is having with the current rx8s.

 

Any pics? Specs? Something solid and reliable, and not just hear-say?

 

I heard that the next renesis was going to make 23% more power, maube they downgraded it?

Maybe they are changing the rotary to a V8.

 

i dunno i hope if they do make that happen they put it on a RX7, this car has too many lil problems to even bother.

 

Wasnt the rx7 known for problems too? Or am I just reading stuff?
I would be driving a lotus esprit (and may sell out to one if i ever get the cash) but they discontinued them like the rx7's. Oh well I love my rx8 and love never seeing another one on the road, but maybe once a month.

 

I'm sorry but why would you want a Lotus Esprit? They look pretty good in my opinion but the cars performance and reliability is down right garbage compared to other cars in that price range.

ps the engine im talking about is not what on the current 8.. Its a new rotary that is only a concept. Same function as a rotary just a lil more advanced..It is however being made by mazda which makes it possible to see in future cars.

 

I guess we will have to wait until SEMA 07?
