ull be fine, rx8 isnt about acceleration anyways, its about utility and looks, handling and the zoom zoom thing.
there isnt much you can do to make your rx8 significantly faster because the aftermarket is small.
make sure you change your oil often because rotory engines eats up oil, get Zaino to protect your paint, and keep the engine running for a bit longer after you stop the car during winter time.

you being a *****. Having an auto RX8 is not a crime and who cares what others think. If you really cared, why didn't u get an MT.

Congrats and welcome to the AT family. My 8 is fast enough for me.

Kraji, you got the AT, you obviously weren't looking for speed and that's fine. Not everyone cares. However, what worries me is you got the AT and are looking (with your first post) on how to make it faster, that doesn't make any sense.

As far as taking care of it goes, check the oil every couple of weeks and always carry a spare quart with you.

the best bet for the auto (4-port) is to get one of the turbo kits for the automatic. Most of the other mods that would make good power (ecu tuning, ect) are all targeted for the manual (6-port) as they dont support the functions of the auto-trany.

Many of the bolt ons, such as intake, catback, ect will fit the auto...all togetht you could bolt on maby ~10hp...not much really, but the sound and responce with make it feel like you added more.

The 06 is coming out with a new auto-trany (6speed vs the current 4speed) and about 20 more HP (212 vs the current 192). Did you JUST buy the car? I wouldnt be suprised if the sales person didnt tell you about there being a newer version of the auto coming out, as they want to sell a car TODAY and also get rid of the 05's on the lot since the new ones are about to hit the dealers.

You know, the LS1 guys think that about these cars in general. Faster than stock is still faster. Don't compare it to another car. Not even the manual. It's all reference based. He can most certainly make his car faster. If a Civic can be made fast, and we know they can be, so can an auto RX-8.

It's all a personal preference to get the AT. Good luck finding ANY mods that will significantly increase any HP whether for AT or MT. The car just wasn't made like an RX-7.

My friend (Who owns a 350+ HP FD) said damn your car is slow.. must be the AT. Then at one of the meets, he sat in a Greddy Turbo MT... and he still thought it was slow.

In the end, speed is relative to the owner. To me, it's fast enough... 30+ hp isn't going to make me feel the necessity to drive manual here in Los Angeles every day, going 10-20mph stop and go traffic.
