New RX8 Owner
Just picked up an 05 RX8 GT AT in Ontario last Tuesday. Drove it back to Saskatoon Saskatchewan 3200 kms (2000 miles). Great little machine. Has 11500kms on it or 72000 miles. Runs really strong and only used about 1/4 of a quart of oil in that distance. Mileage is as others have stated. I notice a lot of rear differential noise. Is this normal or not. It could also be a rear wheel bearing but it is hard to pinpoint. Looking froward to better weather and driving it more.

Hello..eliminate the typical exhaust hanger noise first and then see if it is truely the differential. Without knowing what sound your hearing, I am just pointing out what is common on the 8's. Also, look into seeing (if you can), when was the last time the coil packs and spark plugs/wires were changed. Then decide if you want to use the OEM coil packs or go with the GM coil packs from the LSx engines and use the wire adapater kit that is out there or a turnkey solution from someone like Black Halo Racing. Just from one new owner to another!

There is a lot of rollover noise in the transmissions as well....
The differentials are quite robust..not a lot of problems with them usually. Might want to change the tranny and diff oil though...likely due for it
Redline is good...just stay away from RP in the transmission...doesn't seem to like it
