NEw rx8 owner looking for help!

Hey guys, im the proud owner of an 05 shinka 6spd, car had 51,000 miles on it when i got it, currently has 61,000. HAving a problem with the emissions currently. The cat. is going bad according to my scanner. I am thinking about replacing it with a cat delete pipe. any down side? also i am running 5w30w mobile 1 synthetic. Untill today on this forum i didnt know that could be an issue. What the deal with that? Also is there anything you can do as far as preventative maintanince to help these cars out?

troll?

If not, cat is under warranty for 8years/80k miles. If you want to replace, search around for reviews on which cat deletes would fit your needs. downsides are (in no particular order) gas smell, noise, and emissions testing.
For the oil, please read the oil/premix sticky. All your questions will hopefully be answered there!

O and yes i understand the warranty, but they want 125 bucks for diagnostics, when i can buy a delete pipe for not much more.

Get your cat replaced under warranty. It's handy to have around if you need it and don't use it. Or you can sell it to make up for some if not all of the cost of a catless midpipe. Read some reviews on midpipes before making up your mind you may not like the sound of some of the cheaper pipes.

That's all i have to add to Soldiers advice.
