Priority 1) Take care of it. A well maintained 8 will give you far more pleasure and forum respect than a poorly maintained modified one.
Priority 2) Mod you, the driver. $1,100 can get you a cheap set of shocks and springs that will last a few years, or it can get you 3 days of Skip Barber Mazda Driving lessons that will last the rest of your life.
Quick and easy, and also free, go to the top of the RX8 Discussion subforum and read my new owner's thread.
And that's a 2009 or 2010, Series 2, R3 trim. Not GT. The VIN gives you the exact information if you run it through an online VIN lookup tool.

The best thing you can do is some research. Read the thread mentioned above. Also read all of the stickies (top of every section and says sticky)
Not to sound mean, but how do you buy a car and not know what year it is?

definitely steer clear from chrome rims unless you wanna look like a wannabe rapper and destroy the handling of your car, chrome wheels are heavy. One of the reasons the rx8 is such a great sports car is due to its weight. have a look in the wheels forum for ideas, and just generally have a browse on here. ive come from the euro scene so ilove the look of all the bbs wheels. volks, ssr, advan etc are all good japanese sports car wheels.

Do a little research about the R3 first before you do anything else. You may be pleasantly surprised to know have have a pretty rare car as it is. You must have gotten a hellagood deal to put the money up for an R3 without even knowing it.

How do you get through the buying/financing process without knowing what year or model your own car is? You have to tell the bank exactly what it is to secure the loan... title it, get insurance on it. You're relaying that information every step, and probably saying it in your sleep by the time it's all said and done.
You stole it, didn't you.

Oh wow. He knows what year his car is. See? Outstanding. Wouldn't it be great if everybody knew that?

Anyway, here's my opinion to your questions:
1. Oh boy, buying a car in a rush is NEVER a good idea You really need time to research the car you are buying, financing options, insurance, etc.
2. It is VERY odd that it came with the spoiler unmounted. That was a factory option from factory for all R3s.
3. In regards the wheels, KEEP them!! Those R3 wheels are quite coveted around here. If you decide to go aftermarket, then sell them here. You WILL find a buyer from this forum, and you can make some decent money for the.

But so true. Well, he said he bought the car in a rush. I'm sure lots of surprises will come down his way soon
I like the spoiler-less look in some cars. But with the R3 it looks a bit odd - to me - because it already has all the other body kit parts
If you cannot find somebody to sell you one here, try ebay. Those manuals can be quite expensive.

Man, you really rushed into buying that car! Not even an owner's manual!
