New RX8 owner...nice to meet you all.
First of all a big hello to everyone on the forums.
I have just purchased my first rotary, an RX8 from a friend who left Japan. The car was bought stock and has had a good workover from the RE-Amemiya garage in Chiba prefecture here in Japan.
It has a great array of aftermarket mods on it, WedsSport SA-76R in blue light chrome, Revolution intake, fully adjustable suspension and RE-Amemiya exhaust with a carbon RE-Amemiya wing.
I have been doing a lot of reading up on the forums to educate myself a bit as I have come from the world of rallying and owned a MkII RS1800 for a while before moving away from the piston engine world.
Looking forward to learning lots from everyone and making the most of my new RX8.

Here is my RX8. Have to take some proper pics, shot this one quickly while I was taking it for a test drive.
Am heading for the autumn drifting festival in Ebisu drift compound next weekend and will endeavour to get some better photos of it while I am shooting all the drifting action.

Thanks for the warm welcome all. I must admit the wing took some getting used to but it has grown on me. It has the power and aftermarket parts to be very much functional with everything else the car has.
The car won't be drifted, RE-11s are too pricey for that. Haha.

buy a second set of wheels, and put extremely cheap tires on them. Who cares how good the tire is if your gonna drift it and eat the rubber off. You can get tires for 80 or even 100 a piece. Do like the canadians and have two sets.

It's not that, in Japan we buy missiles, and drift those. No need to risk putting my 8 into a concrete wall. Put the missile into it without worrying about damage, paint etc...
The RX8 will get used on track days and for good drives up the highways of Japan.

Thank you. Sounds like you'll put the car to good use!

Took the RX8 away on the weekend for a good 600km run up to the drift matsuri at Ebisu drift compound. Highways the whole way was brilliant fun. Tunnels to listen to the howl of the rotary engine were fantastic.
Red lined it a little to keep the carbon from building up as I read on here. I was really impressed with the ride, noise, and performance from the car. One very satisfied owner!
