I liked it better when Rosenthal used to list the bulletins in chronological order before they redesigned their site. Now you can't even tell which ones are recent and which ones are dated.

Why would anyone pay parts and labor out of their own pocket for that sorry excuse for an a/c condenser cover? The RB cover is probably cheaper and definitely better.

Still can't understand why they didn't address the oil coolers as well. In my opinion they seem more vulnerable than the condenser.

Yeah you can. Open them up....they have a release date on the bulletin.

The new ones are at the top of the list, BTW.

I dont see how the AC protector isn't a recall. Do you actually have to wait until it is damaged to get the protector?

No....you need to buy it off the shelf, regardless.

Just like you have to buy a MS front bumper, or a set of strakes if you want them.

As jaguargod said, anyone who wants those areas protected is MUCH better off by just buying the Racing Beat screen set. Less than 90 bucks gets you all three screens, and Mazda's version costs 80 bucks while only covers the lower portion of the A/C condenser... then we didn't even talk about the two oil coolers where a rock hit can have far more devastating consequences.

Luckily, I already have my DLS Customs (RIP) screen set... so at least I'm not endangered any more.

If you want till it is damaged then your to late and paying for both a protector and new unit.

More amazing is how it only applies for the '05 occuring to them.

The first mod any owner should do is get the RB screens. Much better piece of mind than having rocks tear them away and buying out of pocket to repair it. aka not warrenty item.

recalls= safety issues. broken ac condensor is not a safety issue.

why would they add equiptment to your car for free? if the 2007s come 1 more airbag do you expect them to install that extra airbag in every car that came wiithout it previously? or if it comes standard with SAT NAV? expect them to install that in everyone sold without it? ridiculous

It's a different matter alltogether.
Getting the oil cooler punctured, losing the oil and seizing the engine is a bit more significant than having or not having sat. navigation.

its not a different matter at all. models evolve over different model years. things are changed added or subtracted. the manufacturer is under no obligation to make your model the same as the newest one. except in regards to safety under federal law which deals with recalls. for instance the thermal damage and lower control arm recalls. not fixing these on previous MY cars could cause some to DIE. those they have tpo fix. everything else is just newer model upgrades.

tsb depend entirely on the dealer. the good ones do them no questions asked... the crummy dealers have to have the tsb's printed out in triplicate and glued to the steering wheel before they even acknowledge they exist.

I had a problem with my steering wheel and shifter shaking at idle. Dealer said that it was cracked engine mounts, and they replaced them, now it's smooth. But one thing that they said that they couldn't find which was....a vibration and hum coming from the front axle when I drive at low speeds or brake. They replaced the front brake pads, but that didn't remedy the problem. I am going to take the car back to have them look at this problem again because it's annoying. Another thing, my SRS warning light is coming on....Has anyone else had these problems?

True, by law Mazda may not be under obligation to provide this repair. But seriously, for screens that probably cost about $10 to manufacture and put on, it's kind of a slap in the face that they wouldn't provide these for people who already bought the car- especially with the number of condensers that are being replaced because of rocks.

i didnt post their official position and i know about your lawsuit. their official position is that they arent going to warrenty the installation or cost of these screens. thats it in the bulletin for all to see.

they have upgraded bateries and spark plugs in the new models- and warrenty those for everyone. and starters. they obviously would rather deal with this on a cse by case basis.
its my position that when a car maker makes changes to a newer my vehicle the company is not on the hook to upgrade every existing older model of the vehicle. its my position that those who believe they should are being ridiculous.

airbags. a few years ago there were no side curtain airbags at all. what if the 2004 cars didnt come with them. but then the 2005 or 2006 MY does? should the company have to upgrade every car made without them? or should the owner that wants them pay to have them installed or trade up to the newer model?

airbags are far more important than AC condensors

that's bs too. even if mazda offered the screen the dealers won't do dick about it. I've had it with my local dealer, who has no idea what a flash is, nor do they even acknowledge tsb even existing.

mazda isn't to bad but the dealers absolutely SUCK. mazda however won;t do a recall or fix anything unless they KNOW it will cost them more in lawsuits and liability down the road than if they repaired it. Just the fact that they have settled several condensor problems before court means they know there's a problem, but they are merely offering a bandaid for it.
