anyone know how much and where i can swap an AT tranny out for a Manual?

 

Swapping the tranny can be done but with the automatic car you are still left with a lowered powered engine .

Trade in the Auto for a 6 speed manual and get the larger capacity rotary engine for free.

I swapped the tranny by myself on Ford Probe and it was quite involved. I don't even know if you can swap the tranny without swapping the engine on RX-8 since the engines are different. And, I am pretty much sure no mechanic will agree to do that for less than 6K in labor (that's what I was quoted). You can find some junkyard people to swap it for 1K in labor but they don't know what they are doing. Your best bet is to trade in the car and get a manual as previous poster said.
