New version: tail lights
Thanks to all the rain in El Paso as of late, my tail light is full of moisture... again. About 2 years ago I had this happen and my dealership swapped it out no problems. Today when I went in for it, they told me that there will be a Service Bulletin out shortly for a new version of tail light to be installed as opposed to the current plan of simply replacing them with the same part.
Anyone else heard this? Know what they look like? Just curious because I chose to wait for the service bulletin so I can get the new part.

WHy don't you get it replaced with the old part for now and when the "TSB" really comes out, then do the exchange for the new ones.
Also, how much longer is on your warranty? Maybe your dealer is trying to hold off on changing your tail light until you warranty is out, then he can charge you.

Why? If he did that it would mean one more trip to the dealer...more time waiting etc...Just a PITA. If it were me I'd wait til the new TSB. That is if the current taillights are still working properly.

because its going to be one of those service bulletins where the part will get replaced only if it applies to your car. It's not a recall. So if I get it replaced now, my car wont need it when the new part comes in (unless it goes bad again).

NoTears, if you want an absolutely honest answer on if a new TSB is coming out, regarding...anything...give Rosenthal Mazda a call. They seem to know..basically everything. They're great!
