I just picked up my rx8 yesterday with only 5 miles on it with june 05 production. Here are couple of my impressions of the car for the first time as I didn't test drive one at the dealer. The car is so quiet at 7K+RPM (I know I gotta break in and stuff but just can't resist). I was in 2nd gear at 40 mph and I thought I was in 4th gear so I shift to fifth cuz it's so quiet and I didn't pay attention to the tach. I like the blue light on the tach at night. I drove the car about 60 miles yesterday and the gas guage went down to a little bit more than half I hope that's normal. The car handle extremely well I have a 1 year old daughter and just switch to front facing car seat, It's so much easier to take her out compare to my old car 03 accord coupe. I see the taillights of an Acura NSX in your garage. That's a good place to keep it!

 

don't worry about the mileage. it is going to suck after the car is broken in. i think most people see their mpg jump up someplace between 2-4k miles. this is normal with all cars, not just the 8.

and the only thing quieter than the engine is the warning buzzer. getting on the highway the other day, i missed it on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd :o (you gotta drive fast to merge into atlanta traffic )

 

nice car (and keep your hands on the NSX. rumour has it that they arent going to be produced anymore)

I don't think that khtm was serious about the park-bench wing. If he was, he will shot, drawn and quartered with his body parts thrown to the wolves. Not that we have anything against ricing-up an RX-8 on this forum. :D
