Ok guys, I am limited to 1,500 dollars right now, and I want to decide what I should get for my car. I was first thinking body parts, but those are too expensive, already have basic intake, exhaust, and other things include mazdaspeed shocks/springs, and a few other small interior commodities. So I started thinking engine mods. Then I thought about that recall, and really wanted to postpone doing any engine mods until that has been completed. The dealer does not know much about it right now and is holding off. Still another thing that came to mind which would be right around 1400 dollars was a custom leather interior, as I have cloth. Then I started thinking that I probably really would not want leather, as cloth grips better, you don't have to maintain cloth, leather cracks over time. Hell, my 93 POS blazer's cloth interior is the only part of the car that is even close to near perfect quality.

That having been said, I am stuck. I guess the best thing to do would be just save the money, and wait for something better. However, one thing did come to mind recently, which was, as many of you consider the best mod for this car, the Axial Flow SS. I have no idea how to install this, and while I am confident I could figure it out, for some reason I am a little hesitant. Maybe it is because a lot of other SS's cost 100+ dollars less than it.

So, , I really am stuck. Now I am considering going ahead and purchasing the mazdasped sides and rear, then saving up for the mazdaspeed front and mint blue spoiler.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

THANKS.

^ Wow, very fast response. Yes, this crossed my mind as well in case turbo ever became an option in the future, however, I would need a serious lesson in tuning.

Canzoomer is no good, you have to continuously adjust your setting because the oem ECU adjusts the LTFT. The emanage ultimate has autotune capabilities and will get around the LTFT...

RP (richard paul) short shifter is a very easy install:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...+short+shifter

RP (rotary performance) supercat is nice also

RP (royal purple) stuff is a very small upgrade but nice from what I've heard, I plan to use RP oil and tranny fluid soon

ya i would say go with a midpipe 250ish.
axailflow SS 250
clearcorners 100
and the rest in canzoomer or other managment. (even if it takes a little longer to save for that managment unit you want.)

go at it!

Ok sounds like everyone is really saying SS. Clear corners are done, I had been considering sways, probably should since I take a series of hard, sharp turns several times a week. The supercat I want, but don't know how the dealer would react regarding the emissions recall. I believe part of it is checking the cat. The canzoomer I'm not sure about. I would rather go ahead and go with the int-x in case turbo becomes an option sometime soon. Also, probbaly a better N/A mod than the canzoomer, even though the cost is a bit more.

Alright guys, I've narrowed it down now. 1-Interceptor-X. Good for turbo application in near future, best ecu mod for N/A as well. 2-RP supercat, Axial Flow SS, Mazdaspeed sway bars, Valentine 1 Radar Detector. The interceptor is 1500 from mazsport and number 2 totaled out would be 400 for supercat from rx7.com. 400 for valentine from valentine1.com(might check circuit city for better price.) Mazdaspeed Sways- 518 from rosenthal. And Axial Flow SS-260 from axialflow.com. That is 1578 total, which is a little over my budget but I can get that last bit pretty easily. As for the Interceptor, I have absolutely no idea how to tune, but I read it already has a custom map loaded into it so I would not have to make my own(very good thing.) About to go check the Int-x thread(sticky?) in the aftermarket section. But if it was up to you, between these two would you go for?

if you already have the mazdaspeed shocks and springs i would definitely go for the sways to finish off your suspension. dont know about the short shifter, but i've heard nothing but great things on this site.
