Nicks, Scratches, Scrapes -- A pain!

Well after just two+ weeks of driving, the reality of the road has set in. A couple of small nicks to the front air dam. Some nicks along the side that just missed the plastic protector near the rear wheel well. And most strange of all some small nicks on the rear bumper cover. I can't figure these out, it looks almost as if the car was getting pelted with little rocks from BEHIND. Weird and a general pain in the butt. I am very detail oriented and I want it to be perfect. I am definitely going for the clear bra for the front. I have yet to find someone in the Indy area that does it.

Dude... give up. I am beyond **** retentive myself and the nicks and chips in my car actually kinda gives me little anxiety attacks.

Buy some langka and go to town...

I was reading Tom Clancy's Executive Orders the other day and as the terrorist is planting a biological weapon at an Auto Show he comments on the fact that the mfgs. show you these pristine cars that look perfect yet will never make it home from the dealer in the same shape.

Strange just how true that is.

If you find a place here in Indy that does the clear bra, post it and let us know.

Langka works with rear bumpers because I thought paint doesn't adhear too well to plastic.

I feel your pain. In two weeks with about 500 miles on mine a rock hit my bumper and chipped it nicely. Now within a few months, I am getting road rash all over front and sides, and those hairline scratches are everywhere. I can't even keep the interior from getting scratched, and I gave up on keeping the leather and door panels clean too. Didn't take long for my car to go form new to used that's for sure. Black is definitely not way to go for **** people either. I just need to let time pass, and let car get old, so slowly it will bother me less. Only way to keep your car perfect is to not drive it, so such is life.

On the freeway a few weeks ago something came flying over the car in front of me and hit the top of my car with a loud bang. When I checked it out I had a nice half inch long gash down to the metal and a smaller scrape just behind it.... that was sheeeee-ty.

I drive 52 miles a day and I have nothing but scratches, nicks and cuts from road debris. I was sad about it before, but like VikingDJ said "I give up" and now I drive it like I love it!

I found a way to avoid all those scratches and chips. Just turn the radio up loud enough so you cannot hear the stuff hitting the car.

This was a topic in another thread about a month ago. Someone had hit the nail right on the head... If you tailgate, drive behind trucks, cut people off, and drive like a general a-hole probably nothing will happen to the car. When you drive "careful" more crap happens.

Drive it like you stole it!
