I honestly cannot see how jrknu can be considered a troll or this post to be "trollish"...... The poor guy was probably upset when someone made some negative comments about his beloved 8!
Come on....you don't have to make fun of peoples' usernames now do you :P. Personally I would probably interpret jrknu as junior keanu or something like that.
I don't own an 8 yet but if I had to choose between an boxster or an 8, I would choose an 8 anyday. Don't let dumbasses like your co-worker get you down mate!

Not to worry, I don’t know what a ‘troll’ is anyway,
If it stands for ‘twin rotary on line loser’ then count me out. :p
I like my Rx-8 (at least 99.8%), I liked my Rx-7(100%), and I could never have afforded a FD or a Porsche.
If I could have afforded one, it would not be the boxer I would be driving.
I plan on driving my 8 till they pull it out of my cold dead hands, and I hope that will be awhile :D

My aunt owned a Seat 600-D in Spain back in the 70's. It was a 2 door with suicide doors. I'm pretty sure it wasn't an Ion, but I could be mistaken. It also had an air cooled engine in the back. Maybe it was a 911/Ion. I'm sure your co-worker knows. Ask him for me.

Let's see I've owned a Porsche 924 Turbo (POS), a Porsche 944 Turbo, and a Porsche 968. I've also owned a 2nd gen RX7, and a 3rd gen RX7 (FD). Plus a bunch of other fast stuff. Now I have my RX-8.
If my 8 is a Saturn, I really should've looked at Saturns before now. Because of all the cars I've owned (13 sports cars) this is my favorite.

All, please, let's not turn this into an RX-8 vs FD thread. They are very different cars with different intents and different target markets.
The 3rd gen RX-7 was a true sports car, with all the good and bad that the term implies. It handled impeccably, it revved forever, it was small and tight inside, it was curvaceous and sexy, it was nimble beyond belief, it sat two only, it was light, it was relatively crude, it was cheaply appointed, and it was a pure extension of your body. With mid-level modifications, almost 400 reliable Hp, 1.2 lateral g’s, 3.4 sec 0-60, and 80 ft 60-0 were possible. It could then keep up with Vipers in a straight line and out-brake and out-handle just about anything you’d run up against. Vipers, 996 911 TTs, F355s, C5s, M3s, NSXs, Supra TTs, and Mustang Cobra Rs were no problem on the track. It prowled the streets looking for victims. It made passengers hoot and gasp for air. It was a modern-day 289 AC Cobra or a Lotus Elise with twice the horsepower.
The RX-8 is a sport tourer, all the good and bad that the term implies. It handles well, it feels significantly heavier, it is far more comfortable, it is well built, it is smooth, it has all the bells and whistles you could ask for, it eats up the miles, it seats four, it brakes well, it is quick but not powerful enough to bite you, and it is good looking in an Armani suit kind of way. It is a nimbler, slightly less powerful M3.
I like my RX-8 more, every day, than I liked my RX-7. But when I was pushing it, the RX-7 was the best possible combination of performance, and I was in love with it. The RX-8 is no competition for the RX-7, performance-wise, and the RX-7 is no competition for the RX-8, daily-driver-wise.
And the RX-8 (better built, better equipped, safer, and more comfortable) cost only $100 more 11 years later.

My wife had a 98 Saturn, no suicide doors mind you, but it was a very nice car.
That Saturn was closer to a first generation 7, and not a 8 by any stretch.
8 handles way toooo……….. good and has powerà

I agree 100%!
Anyone want to buy an FD?
