If you click the link to the auto show, then click on the floating RX-8 bubble (which says 2006 RX-8) you will get a link that says "build your own" on it. If you click that it will then take you to the 2006 info, although not completely updated yet since there are still blank windows and such in there.

http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/conf...=RX8&zip=97042

However, this is also the information that shows up for my zip code, so you may find different stuff there.

No hope for the RX-7, IMO. The rotary is dead.

High authority huh? From someone who changes oil??

I know you are only having a laugh...a load on crap Mazdaspeedgirl..

To let you guys know here in OZ the 2006 Model has arrived, the adds are on TV as of Yesterday (Sunday, during our one day Cricket International) and the new (Your Shinka) II (Revalation)is also here, I think the US will also get the limited RX-8, most countries do, so should you...

So the rotary is STILL ALIVE AND WELL!

*sigh*

If my dealership is wrong, then good. I am in no way trying to start any kind of flame war, if that is your opinion.

Don't assume that I am a some sort of troll. Honestly, I expected more maturity from this group than my "misinformation" (if you will) being referred to in the terms of excrement.

I was not told that there would be no 06 model by the dealership, but just that it will be discontinued. I will see what more information I can get from the lead tech and post it, if it pleases you.

And for what it's worth, I would hope that you would not trust the care of your car to someone who "merely" changes oil.

I saw a picture of the 2006 Shinka interior while getting service last Thursday. It had the parchment leather with a pattern in the center of the seat. Looks like it will provide good ventilation to the derier and the exterior Shinka color will be Copper red, same color is now available on 2006 MX5. Their is another blue phantom blue and galaxy grey available also. I was told they were expecting to get some in March or April.

Mexico

Hello All:
I live in Mexico City, and Mazdas arrived a couple of months ago, they brought the 3, 5 and 6, i was mildly interested in the 6 but upon seeing it at the dealership i was a bit disappointed, its dated, supposed to change for '07, anyway i asked about the RX-8, they didn´t know much, but wrote down my number and promissed to call as soon as they knew anything about the RX-8, they did, they called about a week later (early december '05) they told me the RX-8 would be getting here around april!! hope thats true, can´t wait, but now i don´t know if i should wait a year or two for a facelifted or improved version.

When do you expect the next generation RX? 2004 + 5 =2009??

Thanks
Mario P.

That's as good a guess as any. That is, if there is a "next generation RX". And I think that depends to some extent on how the RX-8 sales go in the next couple of years. And whether or not Mazda comes up with another rotary-engined vehicle like a 4th gen RX-7, for example.

My advice would be to not wait for something that may never happen. The RX-8 is available now. Will it or another rotary-engined car be available in 2009? I suspect that even Mazda doesn't have the answer to that question.

I looked at the info about the 06 RX8, there are not many differences between 05 and 06. the horsepower is a little lower and the weigh is heavier than 05. I think the only benefit for general is they have the auto transmission.

Technically, the horsepower isn't lower. It is a new rating system that arrives at that number. If they used that system on the previous models it would yield the same result as is now reflected on the website.
