no dsc on my car

wtf, I ddn't post here?
Anyway, I think DSC is exxagerated... Many cars don't have it and they are fine. Look at those old school cars, you don't see Bimmers slidin everywhere do you? No, I didn't think so.

Wow I did not think this thread would get that much attention. I was under the impression that dsc was the same as traction control and stopped me from sliding around corners and doing donuts easily. I was def wrong

heh -
You could have made a thread called "this thread really sucks" and have nothing in it - and i can almost guarantee you, you'll still get hits from people that just wanted to see 'how much it really sucks'.

Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control are both similar electronic intervention systems that are activated when the Antilock Brake Sensors detect higher than normal wheel rotation differentials at the wheels. The system then electronically brakes just the wheels in higher rotation in order to prevent the car from initiating a skid.
You don't have either system.
You have ABS brakes which automatically pulse the brakes in a slide when the car is over braked. All RX8s have ABS brakes, and the system can not be switched off.
You also have a Limited Slip Differential, which helps the rear wheels distribute torque to the drive wheels more evenly in a high power launch or on less than perfect road surfaces. This can not be "switched off" because it is a completely mechanical system with no computer intervention.
In short, you permanently disabled TC/DSC by purchasing a base.
I also have a base. In the 80,000 miles that I have owned the car, I have only had the rear end slide out on me once due to weather conditions. With good tires, the car handles very well without the system, and I drive it all year round in snow and rain. The car is well balanced. That's the most important thing.
