Red face No0b has GAS question :/

Hey guys...im pretty new to the forums and for sure new to the rotary. I know theres been all this talk about gas miles and what not..but i just want to know how many miles you guys get to a FULL TANK...i dont get more then 205...and thats PUSHING it...light usually turns on around 190-195

6 speed manual...91 octane...spoke to a friend with an automatic...and she gets same amount...no more than 200 miles...is this accurate?

p.s. the peeps here are very helpful....thanks to everyone who can help!

I get better mileage now than I did when it was new (>2 years, 21K mi). I can generally squeeze out at least around 250, and since the recall work I've been able get quite a bit more than that maybe 280 before the light comes on.

Depends on a few things
1) how you drive (how high you rev, which gears you use at which speeds, how often you brake, etc)
2) where you drive (hills, frequent stops, etc)
3) how long your trips are
4) your car (some people just have lemons. others get awesome mileage no matter how they drive it seems)

I used to get low 200's (~15-16mpg) driving somewhat conservatively. Now I get about 240-250 before the light turns on (~18mpg)

search for "improving gas mileage" and you'll find some tips.

My 8 is 8 weeks old; 6 speed. On the last tank which was 80/20 city/highway (it doesn't count as highway in Chicago when you're in gridlock) I got 250 and filled back up just over 14 gallons.

There are many threads on this subject. I think a search will provide you with more mileage testimonials than you'll ever need.

Personally, I've gotten anywhere between 170 and 270 on a tank. I average a little over 200 in the summer months. In the cold weather it's a whole different story when you factor in warm-up times.

I've had mine a year and a half, has about 8500 miles on it and I get 22 mpg in mixed driving, not a lot of stop and go though. When I was on the L (I think) flash I got around 20, but it went up 2 mpg after the recall earlier in the year. On a long trip I did 24 with the cruise on 70. Just had the heat shield recall done and the service tech said I might see a little increase from the latest, but will have to wait and see. And no, I do not drive like grandma. I tried that and got a whopping .5 mpg increase to 22.5 mpg.
