Semi-Auto. Or if you want, just plain manual.

And yes, the 6spd AT has more torque than the 6spd MT.

i love my AT. i'd maybe like to have a stick for when i'm really pushin it, but because i drive it everyday both city and highway i'm really set with the AT. slow and go has to be somewhat more aggravating in a manual. so i guess its up to whether you want the ease of the AT or the sporty race car fun of the MT. i gotta say i get my zoomzoom on anyway. my 2 cents.

really? when I looked it up they have the same torque.
and it's not a manual if it has no clutch :-P

From MSN auto
--------------------1.3L 212 hp -----------1.3L 232 hp
Horsepower---- 212 @ 7500 RPM ---232 @ 8500 RPM
Torque (lb-ft)--- 159 @ 5500 RPM ----159 @ 5500 RPM

Don't forget that the AT has a torque converter. Don't know what that converts the torque into, but you're left with less out the other end of it.

Wish I can help you decide, but I don't know how to drive an automatic, so…

Still goes to the expression as a manual, even if it doesn't have a clutch.
And I don't feel like nerd searching the web for the torque but I'll leave it at that.

I think we should go with what the majority call it so as to not confuse the new guy.
Or can anyone with any mazdaspeed accessory call their 8 an MS8?

to the OT, it really all comes down to the traffic and ur priorities, the MTs will always be faster in a straight line, but for what its worth, my rx-8 is
1. an Automatic
2. a silver color
that makes me probably the most fucked in this forum
I use to be so sad that I bought an AT(should have shelled out the xtra 3grand for the MT) but I kid you not, nowadays, I glad I didn't get one, **** the traffic in Socal, **** it hard, in the ***

Good example.. But.. I wonder what the "M" stands for when I switch it to "tiptronic, or semi-auto mode" ..

If anything, it would of been called a "T" or a "SA" ..

Anyways, I'm done. And I agree with the top post ^
