And sorry for pissing so hard on you Swoope, I actually respect you even if I dislike how you tend to treat noobs. But I get tired of this attitude, we should be helping one another, even those who haven't read the stickies and whatnot. Rotary drivers are a dying breed.
if i was pissy i would have been all over the op for this question is the dissussion / newb section..

should have been in the tech section..

as to me treating noobs. i rarely iteract with them any more.. this is not like back in the troll hunting days.

FWIW - I have already made the switch to 10W-30 in the winter (it gets very cold here) and 10W-40 in the summer (recent switch - I was using 10W-30 in summer).

I did this only because of what I've read on these forums. It's anecdotal, but my motor seems to run much smoother than when I was running 5W-20, and there's been no decrease in fuel economy whatsoever (of if so, it's too small to register).

Well, when you're right you're right. You've never really given me that attitude and to no one in this thread, I was reacting to ancient crap which has long since decayed. And I was wrong to call you an *** when I was the one being one in this thread. So, I'll admit I was the one in the wrong here.

Or does one not get to 6k+ posts by posting answers, but rather by posting dumbass off the cuff replies...
Firstly :your question was not only off topic but has also been answered in huge detail elsewhere in this forum. It would be silly to actually answer that question in this thread.
Secondly : Why should I link you to it ? You have been around long enough to do your own search . Or am I supposed to telepathically know that you don't have the skills to do it yourself ?
