Not Even an Owner yet!!!
Hello folks, I am brand new to this forum. I am not even an RX8 owner (yet), in fact I have not even test driven an RX8 yet for fear that I will just leap out of the car and get it. I happen to love the body style, and cannot wait until the time when I can put the purchase on one. Just waiting to get my down payment together.
I have read a few posts here, and apart from the dissapointing mileage, are there any other real issues I should be considering when looking at this car? I practically hyperventilate when I pull in the stinkin' dealership!
I am just trying to gather as much info as possible before the end of Sept which is my target purchase date. Thanks all...

IME the only problem is the test drive: don't do it until you're ready and able to buy. Leaving a car dealer bawling because you can't actually have this amazing car that you were dumb enough to drive is just - well - embarassing!
Like \\Konig\\ said, check the build date and VIN # of any car that interests you. Then check the TSB and recalls list for that vehicle (stickied on the Tech Forum). Have them all printed out and in your hand when you go back in to buy. (Unless you're an experienced and successful negotiator, never buy a car on the day of a test drive, especially an RX-8 test drive!) If they seem like they won't take care of all TSB issues, let them know their choice is to do so or you'll find another dealer. They'll always cave on this one.
I've had mine for only two days so my "no problems" doesn't really mean anything. But going in well prepared is a great way to avoid all the preventable ones. Winging it is for geniuses and idiots.

I'm in the same boat, but I HAVE test driven the RX-8 twice, and I love it! Holding out for the '05's, and I need to sell my other car first.
The posts here seem to show that the RX-8 has proven itself to be quite reliable.
