yes... depends on company, marriage, and other vehicles
You will be plenty comfortable (in my opinion... I'm not 250, but that's my opinion). If it can hold 4 adults you should have plenty of room. Insurance is costing me $330 a month for my RX8 and my Mustang GT with not being married, a clean driving record, full coverage on both.

6' will not be a problem, and there is ample shoulder room due to the design of the doors. As for insurance: for me @29 (28 when i bought it) with Progressive, it's cheaper on the 8 than it was on a 98 Volvo C70. Progressive lists it as a 4 door with 80 cubic inch engine.

I am 25 single, I have an 04 Rx8 and 99 ford contour both full coverage for $115 a month. something to help lower insurance is multiline discount. i have state farm, with 2 cars and a life insurance policy i save killer money. plus make sure your insurance know about all the airbags safety features and theft prevention stuff. My insurance actually dropped 20 dollars a month when i traded my 04 wrx for the mazda. good luck, and i hope you get your new car

good idea, ....i live in dallas, grad. and moved here for a job 8 months ago, and i swear to you..ive only seen 3 rx8's here *besides going to mazda dealership*
is the inside at night bad *** looking :P

I'm 26, the insurance cost me around $105 for full coverage. Sell the saftey issues like Adam_X says, they'll knock off a good amount of the whole payment plan. I think they took off $400 a year just for having an anti-theft system! Oh, I'm still getting mauled on the car payments themselves at $528 a month. But the Rx8 friggin' rules all.

1/m 25 6'4" and about 180ish or so..i fit fine. My insurence for full coverage is 450 every 6 months. (i've had one totaled car adn a few tickets..but that was over 3 years ago so i'm pretty sure it doesn't count anymore)..oh and i have USAA as my insurence provider. They classify the rx-8 as a 4-door sedan:D

i thout there was plenty of room in the car, im 5'11" and about 160. i have the seat almost all the way up. the insurance is actually a lot less than i thought. i was also considering a 2000 lexus GS and 2001 bmw 325i. the rx8 was by far the cheapest of the three. because it has 4 doors, 4 seats and less than 300 hp, its not considered a sports car...at least by insurance companies.-USAA

Why not go test drive one and find out? Every body is unique.
and also, th emain one....im 25, what would my insurance be like on it..
Depends on many factors. Once again, the best way to answer is get the answer that's meaningful specifically to you: call your insurance agent/company. Ask for a quote. Then you'll know facts rather than conjectures.
Yes, I'm in a snotty mood! It's snowing - again - and my RX-8's cooped up in the stinkin' garage. Ever try to heel and toe a tight corner in a 12 year old Jeep?!

not sure on insurance
I'm just over 6'7''- (I refuse to say or admit to 6'8'') that's what the Army measures me at- I totally - disagree- I mean 6'8'' - that's getting on the freakish side--and 295lbs. I have zero problems once in the car- and driving. The back seat- is not an option for me- I mean I could get in- but I think I would damage something- not on me, but on the car trying to get out. Controls are quite comfortable, with ***** that are bigger than a rasin, (unlike some cars), that I can actually turn, with my hands.
The passengar side- does not seem as forgiving, for someone my size- but not impossible.

I only put $500 down, and I got the car around the time it appeared in the U.S. It would have cost me more, but I knew the General Manager of the dealership, she cut me some slack and trimmed down the the monthly's from $650 to $528.
It's takes a good chunk outta my *** either way. But this car's worth it! :D

I put $150 down on the insurance.
I pay 80 bones a month after that.
For the car, 1300 down. Current payment is 507 @ 66 months. But, I am refinancing and getting that broke to 450 @ 60 months .
Army rx_8, I was thinking of switching from progressive to USAA insurance. I am getting refinancing through there right now. How has their support and customer relations been with you?
And just a basic rule. For every 1000 dollars of the cars end price, that will cost you $20.00 a month to finance. 25,000 dollar car=500 a month. If you put 3g down, it would be 440. Those are approximations though, usually on the high side. It is usually within $10 with a decent interest rate.

I'm 6' 1" 240 - though I was 250 when I first bought the car. No problem driving at all though an adult would not care to sit in the back seat behind me when I am driving. Insurance will be quite reasonable as the carriers classify this as a four door...
