Now that people have had their cars for awhile, how are 8s rattle-wise?

I asked this question when the 8 first came out, but how have they been rattle-wise now that several people have owned theirs for awhile?

Anyone who has had a stupid rattle or squeak from somewhere in the interior, usually from trim, knows that it can take a normally enjoyable ownership experience and result in your loathing to even drive the car. I also know I'm not the only one who's had to reluctantly trade their vehicle because a squeak or rattle just got too annoying to live with anymore.

So, how have the 8s been? At delivery the main problem seemed to be sqeuaks coming from the flexing of the dual doors against the weatherstrip...

The sounds like there is a rattle coming from under-neath the car somewhere. Took it into Mazda and they retorqued everything, but I still hear it. I'm wondering if it's the exhaust piping...

3+k - no rattles @ all!

Also have a '93 MX-6 w/ 188k miles - only have suspension bushing wear making noise - to be expected...no "rattles".

rattles everywhere once it turned cold....there's a NASTY rattle on the passenger's side door, and there's some rattles somewhere in the back...some days when it's warmer out (above 30 degree) there aren't any rattles...colder than that and all you hear are the rattles

That's a bit disturbing to hear but not entirely surprising; you'll note that the "rattle free" posters are generally posting from warmer areas...

I had a nasty glass-against-metal type rattle in my driver's side door; I took it to the Mazda dealership and they fixed it (I have no idea what they did). I also have a rattle coming from the sunroof when it's closed; it's probably the little pop-up wind deflector. That one hasn't annoyed me enough to do anything about it.

My baby has made a squeeking in the driver and passenger doors when it's cold out (below 30 f). I took it to the dealer but by the time I got there (it's a 30 min. drive) the car had warmed up enough that the sounds went away. They are replacing the center console due to it getting stuck closed and they will have it overnight then. They told me they would test it in the morning and if it needs to be done they will replace the whole door panels. Apparently Mazda wants to have any of the parts that need to be warrantied to investigate the cause of the problem so they are asking to remove the whole section of any warranty items. That is why I am getting a whole new center console. I am actually very impressed with this and expect that Mazda is using this research to improve on the cars.

Both doors (front) are rattling quite a bit and not only in the cold. It's not as bad in warmer temps though. I have a small one coming from the dash also at times. Annoying for a 2004 40 gran car. (Can$)

Nothing consistantly. I've had a squeak here, rattle there, but they seem to go away. I've gone from 100+ degrees this summer to the teens this winter, and not much of a change so far (knock on wood).

5555 miles and no rattles. There is a minor squeak in the instrument panel when temps are below freezing but that disappears as soon as it warms up.

I have a rattle in my driver side door that I thought was coming from the window because it sounded like the glass rattling. I checking it last night and it is coming from the outside mirror. I will look at it this weekend to see if I can fix it. If not, I will take it to the dealer.
