OBX Exhaust...

Hey guys, I have a question that's probably going to get me flamed so I'm going to approach it the right way in hopes that you will answer my question in a productive manner and maybe it could also help future members.

I was on Ebay and I saw an OBX exhaust for sale. The first thing that came to my mind was "knock off" but since I don't know much about exhausts, let alone RX-8s, I figured the best way to secure my doubts was by asking members on here who have maybe used the exhaust or knew of someone who has. Any info. on it will help. If it's a knock off, just say so...no need for crazy or smart-*** one liners that do absolutely nothing for the thread.

And for those people that simply plan to say "search". Know that I have searched, but got nothing on the OBX.

The only reason I even took the time to make a thread about this, is because i'm looking for a cat-back exhaust and many people have directed me to Ebay. And there are tons of "knock off" exhausts on there but you can kind of tell because of the ridiculous $44. price with $18. shipping fee. The OBX exhaust is listed a few times on Ebay, and for $300. before shipping so I was wondering how credible it actually was.

Sorry about the long thread, but I figured I'd at least explain myself if I was to expect normal answers. I also didn't want to start another "what kind of exhaust should I buy?" thread because I know how many there have been.

Hope to hear what you guys/gals think.

Thanks in advance :-)

oh wow...I have no idea why that didn't come up in the search...Thanks a lot PRL 84U! I appreciate it. It sounds real nice.

Is there anybody that's had the OBX exhaust on for over 6 months, does it still sound the same and perform the same, or has it gotten louder and raspier?

Just so no one gets too uppity, I typed "OBX" into the search function and got exactly 0 results. Maybe search is on the fritz right now. I posted in Goat's thread several times.

Supergoat had his car totaled before he got 6 months on the OBX. If it's any help, though, he has a new Rx-8 and is seriously considering buying another OBX.

oh, sweet deal, if it's good enough for a buy-back, then I don't see why I shouldn't give it a shot...

Would anybody know how this would sound with a Turbo XS midpipe? Raspier? deeper? I def. know it's going to be louder but one of the big reason's I want the OBX is because it sounds deep and throaty, I don't want to compromise that sound too much...
