Occasional weird start..?

so i tried to search but i got a bunch of weird stuff so i figured i would just ask it here...

Every so often, and completely random, my car seems to crank longer then normal almost sounding like its not going to start, maybe its nothing, but maybe its something. It probably only takes about 3-4 seconds to start when it does this, but it just seems weird to me. Do you guys think i need to replace my plugs and coils possibly? I have an 06 so it should have the newer starter. If nothing is wrong that is great but i am just curious.

Well, this was occuring while I was pre-mixing. Made me slightly concerned there was other issues getting masked by the pre-mix, so I stopped using it for a bit. Currently waitng on the dealer to replace my engine, under warrenty, with 39k on the clock. If you are worried bout the engine, get it checked, they'll let you know from there.

This may not be the case for your car, and mine started showing other issues last Friday. It's quite possible that mine had progressed further then yours, but the problem you are describing occured to me for the last few months on my car.

I have an 04 and it happens very rarely but it does....I think it's normal as long as it's not everytime......i have no symptoms of a bad engine and my plugs and coils are the originals 45000 miles and getting changed as soon as I find a place other than the dealer to buy the parts...

i though ti was normal, i noticed mines does that extended cranking time when the temperature is hot outside or after i drove it for half an hour or more, and stop by the store to grab a quick eat then try start again it cranks a little longer. I though this was normal due to the msp16 reflash having the motor crank a little without firing in order to pump some oil in the chambers before the combustion starts in order to reduce wear or something.

Mine does it as well, randomly it'll take forever to crank but it's always started eventually so far, haven't breached 15k miles yet.

I don't use my 8 daily. Its only active on the weekends, and what I've noticed is that usually on that Friday/Saturday,the initial start up will take a little longer. About 4-5 cycles of the motor to fire up. After that though, it'll start up fine for the remainder of the weekend "2 cycles or so."

So for me, its been pretty normal, I hope lol. And for reference, It's an 06, with about 31k miles. I'm going to do the 30k service soon.
