OEM Wheels...

I've searched but haven't found anything.. has anyone else noticed that the rims are exactly the same on the right and left side of our cars? and that one side is technically backwards compared to the other side? Just curious as to if it would affect handling or aerodynamics at all? idk why but it has been bothering me since I discovered this.

What are you talking about? They should all look the same.

the right side of the spoke is toward the outer edge, while the left side is more angled in. wouldn't you think that right and left would be opposite? to be symmetrical? idk...

You should probably just run with the 2 left wheels only.

If you've ever noticed your car pulling to one side a little bit or just slightly drifting to one side or the other, that's why.

True story.

you see, that is what I mean. would that slight difference between the two sides make it drag to the one side. The main reason I was wondering is that I have a bent rim, dealership I bought it from tried to hide it up. I need to get a new right rear wheel and was unsure if there was specific ones for the left and right... or if I had 4 "left" rims... it wouldn't surprise me the least with some of the ridiculous things I've found on my 8 since I've owned it that wasn't right... I just want to make sure I have the correct things on my car. lol

Sometimes I think that's part of the forum's charter.

Piro - if you haven't seen through the Henny Youngman wannabes, the wheels are supposed to be that way. Just styling, the pitch on the spokes won't affect anything. Be happy that all four wheels are the same...makes life easier when you have to replace or repair one.

unless you have real fins on the wheels like the ones on the SLR, it wont affect anything.
SLR does have two sets of wheels.

Be glad it is like it is. I've owned several cars that actually did have 4 separate part number wheels, one for each corner. Rotate tires, what? Lol. Ugh.

thank you, that's what I wanted to make sure of. I have seen cars with wheels that were not interchangeable from side to side, and owned a cavalier that was like that.

thanks alot also, I've been reading through the forums a good bit, haven't posted much. have noticed some people can act quite rude when a "noob" asks a question. now I know that I can get just a regular wheel for mine.

Like everyone said, the wheels are supposed to be the same and it does make life easier when replacing one, or rotating tires.
When I first noticed this though, I thought maybe my car had been in an accident and some hack-job bodyshop replaced the wheels with the wrong ones.
