Official Word From Mazda!!

ok everybody i just received a phone call at my office from someone working at mazda on the rx-8. they are reading EVERYBODIES comments here on the forum! the cars will be released next week! they are checking EVERY car by hand to make sure the cars are perfect! there is no special hold for a single day release. there is no overheating problems. there is no truck transport problems. they just have a port full of rx8s and they are checking them all by hand to make sure they are PERFECT! so the cars well be here next week officially!!! this is straight from mazda!! i know everybody was hopping for a pre-holiday release but unfortunately, it wont be until next week, so hopefully now every body can relax a little knowing the cars will be here very soon!!
:D :D :D

Wouldn't it have been easier for them to personally inspect every car while they were still in Japan?

no they wanted to do it here after they have crossed the salt water and als the us standards are different than japanese standards. so they are doing quality control here. each one they are not doing every 5 or so they are doing each and every one of them by hand. they want your car to be perfect before they release it to you!

Who knows what's happened to them in weeks of transit?

I appreciate all you have done for us. I sure hope you are right on this one also. We all seem to be getting ups and downs waiting for our cars. And hopefully you hair can grow back . Just curious, why did they call you?

Well, my Florida dealer just called to let me know that he was involved in a conference call today, and none of the cars from any port will be released until Monday. They are still going through inspections. I have to ask -- since the California cars showed up at port much sooner than the east coast cars, shouldn't they have been inspected and shipped within a reasonable amount of time? Doesn't it seem odd that all ports will be releasing the cars at the same time? Oh well, they will be here someday.

they got my info from this board. who i am where i worked. they did not like the comments people were saying about mazda. they almost logggged on to say something but they know they would be bombarded with emails and stuff if everybody knew they worked on the rx-8 release team. so they called me to tell everybody to relax and that the cars will be here next week. mazda has been reading eveything everybody has been saying and they want everybody here to know that they want this to be the perfect car for you. they dont want you to have to come back in a week after you buy it with problems. they just thought it was time to let everybody know that they will be here soon!!

My car hasn't even been in port for a full week and I am going crazy. I cannot imagine how you guys out on the West Coast have been dealing with the wait!

it just takes time to inspect every car by hand. there is no rhyme or reason to it other than it takes time to make sure everything is perfect!

Ibfubar, do you think that the Canadian cars are being delayed at port for the same reason?

Thanks again. And if Mazda is reading... RX-8 release team or whomever there - I'd LOVE to have a great job helping with PR on the current and future rotary models Mazda will be selling - on a regional basis - training dealers, auto show reps, etc. Although it'd take a lot to take me from 'my day job'. And - I'd *love* (I'm not alone here I'm sure) to have an inside scoop, market analysis feedback, "what if's", etc about any new offering (aka convertible) in the works that would have a rotary under the hood. ;-)
p.s. I'm glad the 4 year wait for this great new cars is about over!

A Thousand Thank You's

Thanks for the information - at least the extra time is being used well. I haven't been one of the people complaining (I don't need my car until August or September) but I am getting quietly desperate for a test drive after my spin in a G35. I just told my dealership that the first cars will be in next week - I usually give them a weekly call/e-mail to let them know RX-8 status...

Well, my dealer had this nailed! The guy responsible for the RX-8 orders at the dealership told me two weeks ago to expect a second week of July delivery. So I've been amused seeing everybody freak out over "delays". Looks like they (Mazda) knew about this date a while back. Glad they finally saw the need to respond.

Like the rest of you, I'm very excited to be so close to delivery. It's almost like Christmas in July (except I'm paying for my own present).

Thank you very much Ibfubar for passing along the good news. Hang on everybody, it's almost here!!!:D

This is what Mazda should read. Why do we have to tell the "dealers" what is going on with our car? Do we get a rebate? Watch?

Glad to know Mazda was listening to the growing frustration.

All - This forum rocks! Where did Mazda go to get the 'inside scoop' of their soon-to-be RX-8 owners.

Right here folks.

Fuber - you have also represented Mazda well with your insight & comments. Thanks for being our most recent 'mouthpiece' for Mazda.

Thanks Fubar! Like I already said, you da man!

Now, please step aside for just a minute, thanks...

Uh,

Domo arigato Mr. Mazda. I love you guys! The Rx-8 is phat! And if y'all don't mind, mine is coming later on, so please don't stop that 100% inspection stuff. And, uh yeah, if y'all want to add a little something to it, please be my guest. Domo!

Your friend and loyal supporter,
#6429

OK, thanks Fubar!
