Mazda dealership should be the one and only place for all the Rotary answers. You know why ? Cuz Mazda Recommended it ! Just like the 5w20 thing, parts, etc.
I'm going to secretly have to find a way to write my name into the owner's manual so people stop going to dealerships!

i use 5w-20 for the last 50k miles. it gets cold in the winter here about 15 degrees F. So 5w is certainly worth it but how hot is to hot to switch to 30w. the hottest it can get here is 110 degree F with like 100% humidity.

is that worth it to switch to 5w 30. Just like the poster i have read many many posts. And while they offer a lot of certainty on any side. Most people say use it because i use it.

I don't currently premix but am about 70/30 on deciding to do it now. Thats a whole nother batch of questions for another thread, i also have to read up more on premixing.

LOL, But then they would call you instead. That is the last thing you want... 1000 calls per week asking for what oil to use, or if you should pre-mix or not, or how you can get more power to beat a XXXXX.

Synthetic/conventional it's never going to end, but it's 3 1/2 quarts right? I bought 4 bottles of GTX, 2 5w20 and 2 10w30 for a nice Miami heat blend.

7 quart total capacity - usually somewhere between 4 to 5 quarts comes out, most get around 4.5.

I get a solid 5 quarts out of mine each time using a Pela Oil Extractor rather than draining out the bottom of the oil pan.

The Pela uses vaccum to suction the oil out of your oilpan via the dipsitck hole so you never have to crawl under to change the oil/filter.
