About 2,500 miles ago. It's a good idea to get your first oil change done early on any new car.

You should do your first oil change early at about 1500mi. During breakin of a new motor you will tend to build up small metal filings and other stuff from the assembly and break in process. Definitely get it done before you take your trip.

Also read up on the proper break in procedures here: www.racingbeat.com

Welcome to the club and enjoy!

I agree. It should have been done at 500 miles.

I usually change my oil on a new vehicle at 1000 miles to get rid of the "break in oil" that may contain minute metal shavings from the break-in process. After that, every 3000 miles, even with synthetics. If you have any other questions regarding synthetics, read some of Rotarygod's posts.
