Oil filter
Hey I'm trying to change the oil filter on my 8 and couldn't really figure out exactly how to do it i had ideas but wasn't all the way sure and didn't want to **** anything up....thanx...also when i look at my dipstick, its not a clear yellow look to it, its more gunky yellow-orange color...i think coolant is mixing with my oil

They should only be tightened a half turn post seating but many shops/dealers overdo it.
Wrap a rag at the base of the filter for as dozer says the filter on the 04-08 models is 'right end up' (which is actually wrong end up).
Be sure to use a new 'crush ring' (washer) with the filter. Many vendors include them, including Rosenthal Mazda, where I get my OEM's (in part thanks for maintaining the TSB library).

Well do you have a recent rebuilt motor?
If yes then it may be vaselin, we use butt loads of vaseline to keep gaskets from falling out on assembly and it ends up all over the dip stick for a while. We are starting to cut back on the amount we use but early on(as in our test car) we used more vaseline then now and it shows up. Is your coolant orange anyways?

No its the same motor i haven't done anything to it besides an AEM intake but yeah it is kind of foamy and I live in st. louis its been cold lately so i dunno
