Oil Leak

Oil Leak
Guys, I got another problem. Was getting an oil change just now(not mazda, not jiffy lube but some other place) and they told me I had an oil leak near the back of the motor near the transmission. I immediatly called this guy I know who has tons of experiance with rotaries and he took a look at it. He said it sounded like a seal(not apex) on the rear rotor was starting to fail. I said, well sounds like new engine time. He told me not at all but with mazdas techs it might be. I called mazda and they said the soonest they could get it would be on wednesday morning. But the leak is so small that if you look under the car you can't see any oil. Which makes me think that it is just starting to fail. What do you rotary experts think?

Isn't this exactly what a warranty is for!??!? I take it in for everything, except routine maintenance. You bought the warranty, use it.
But, to address what the leak is: dunno. I've not had an actual engine oil leak. Many leaks out the back of the tranny, though. Best of luck with it; hope it isn't signs of something severe. Doubt it, though.

^^^ I checked it out Friday night and noticed a very small patch of something dark around the back of the engine near the tranny. Next morning I came out and didn't see anything. Seems to only do it after its been run. Just checked the oil level, still at full. Well, it is going in Tuesday.
