Oil Pan annoyance and possible help from you?

Alright I have read up on this issue so please dont all say "SEARCH!" to me. I know how to use the forum (for the most part lol) and here is my lil issue.

At times I'll be driving and my oil light will come on stating I'm low on oil. I know this means I need to add oil I am not stupid, sadly I'm starting to notice the light isnt being accurate. A few times the light has come on and after letting the engine cool (we all know that bay is a furance at times) I'd check my oil lv and its fine, its right between the low and high fill lines and twice its been more torwards the high fill line.

One day I got sick of it and did a search and found several threads pages long about this problem and its resolution. A new oil pan was the resolution aparently but here is my problem. With most TsB's that are issued you just can't walk on in and say "Hey you.. I want this TsB done" as much as we wish we could. They tell us "We need to reproduce or see the problem first hand.". Well thing is it happened last night driving to a friends house. Several hours later I start my car up again and the oil light is now off, even after some hardcore spirited driving home (I was sober the entire night so I had to have some fun) and the light didnt even come back on.

So I'm curious if any of you have any tips suggestions on how to handle this. I know overfilling a Rotary isnt as bad as a normal pistion engine but I dont care to damage the motor either if I did it to much to often. They just couldnt of made this a recall so I can go in there and say "yeah the previous owner was a friggin' moron and didnt have this done can you help me out guys?".

Does your VIN fall within the range of the TBS? If yes you go down to the dealership with the TBS and explain that your problem fits the TSB. If they will not fix your car call Mazda from the showroom and tell them how your dealer will not fix a known problem. Be sure other people hear you. I had this and the only way to replicate it was to drive at Hwy speed around 4,500 RPM. Most dealers will not so this.
Other than the dealer taking an extra day to do the fix I didn't have a problem.

TSB or No TSB....sounds like the oil pan sensor might not be working properly. They don't need to replace the oil pan to fix that.........jsut need to replace the sensor

Probably an easier sell to the service manager
