I found an 06 White RX8 loaded, minus leather and wing. I LOVE the look of the car, and my wife think's it is hot.

How much should I pay for one, 6 speed, no leather, and no wing. What things should I make sure are done with the car, before I pick the car up.

What lessons learned should I follow from the experiences found on this board.

cant help - but since were on the topic of pricing I went to mazda
of peobody mass, and they had no 06's as of yet

but they had a brand new 05 no leather, or nav it was a 6 speed
they were asking $24,000!! that is f'n cheap for a new rx8

**** i see used one's selling for more than that on ebay, the sales
guy was telling me the 06's are basically the same as the 05's
so why not try to find a left over 05?

 

it probably is an 05, i don't think the 06's are coming out until march or so.....i know we haven't seen any on our lot.....there are a lot of rebates on the 8's now.....any idea what they are asking?

don't know about price, i got mine so early on, I could only talk them down about 2500 bucks, but I talked them up 8k on my trade. So all was well with me. Are you getting one with the sunroof, I know you will end up tracking the car, and if you can live without the sunroof, you will be happy about it.

The one thing I would not let them do, is stick one of their hideous dealer logo badges on the back. They will try, it may already be on the car. Insist they take it off. I told my salesman that I would walk away if they put one on my car.

Rick Case has big shiny ugly badges, usually crooked!

Got my 05 with wing 11/18/2005 for $23,900.00.....

 

Maybe I got screwed, mine cost me $26,000 new 04,red 6spd with appearance package and spoiler. No leather or Nav.

 

Lefty63..as long as you like your car...no matter if you got screwed...even with all the wheelin and dealin you can do ..some where the dealership still makes up the money so Just enjoy your buggy....I got my 2005 with 15k on it, leather 6 speed, and so on. no nav 6 disc cd,,I paid 23k. I sometimes think I got scewed, because I see some people on here pay that for brand new no miles. but this was the dealer I used to work for so they took car of me, the paid me 1500 over what my trade was worth and got my out of my lease so it was worth it. After research my car has never been in for any mechanical issues, it has all the latest computer upgrades and higher cranking battery..so in Short.....JUST ENJOY!!

 

Yea I enjoy my 8. I have not had any real issues for my first 10K and I did get the new battery and the starter and plugs are on order.

I always look forward to the drive to and from work mmm hear that motor purrr as it reaches 9K.

HAHA I know. I bought mine at Rick Case and demanded that they take his clear name off of it. So ugly.

 

I am in NC. My and the wifey are going up there tomorrow, to let her drive the car. I still racking my brain, only because I will be starting over again, when the Evo is almost done. However, that is part of the problem, the car is just insane, and my wife HATES HATES ...... HATES to drive it/be seen in it. SOOO, tomorrow, we go look at something a touch more 'classy'.

Though I haven't dealt with this same dealer, all the dealers here in Texas put their name on the back of the cars here too.

I told them they had to take it off... They said with a giggle... "we would have to charge you to remove it" I told them, fine leave it on there and I will bill you $100 a month for advertising. They got a blank look on their faces and said, "we will remove it right away sir."

I know I would have won had it gone to court but I didn't want to do that, I just wanted to take the dealership name off the car.

 

Are you just trading the Evo in as is? Also, you should be able to get that car for 24k or less. Keep in mind anything sitting on the dealer lots right now has been there for a loooong time.
