i would love to have a 6 speed auto. paddle shifters ftw.

and its not that you have an auto that you cant upgrade anything for any substantial power boosts. manuals cant do anything either. with the rx8, regardless of tranny, the only way to go is FI or nitrous. regardless, this car is an absolute blast on the track or any windy road. and it looks very nice. its the complete package.

Are you shutting down the tcs & dsc controls?

Untill recently I thought all sports and touring 8s had them but I found that Mazda sold some stripped down units with out TCS & DSC. It just sounded like maybe you were not disableing them cuz it should be easy to drift a stock 6port a/t.

it is, lol, it is, but I'm saying that if your going into a corner at 50+mph, and you need to corner real fast, you can't do like the mts and downshift from say, gear 4 to 2, you have to press da brakes first to let ur rpm drop thendown shift twice, a little lag but all good(still lost to my friend's 240sx though, he slammed that ******* corner)

and yes I have a 6pt AT and I am racing.......

yea you have a point second to first is still a problem even with the X. I'm not familure with the 6a/t shift patterns but I can't see a down shift problem. The 4at will let you shift down to second easlily from about 70mph (not recomended) but getting to first is a real problem as the controller does not let you go there above 30mph. Find someone with FI and try theres as you may not need to drop down that far.

yea, my second tops out at 60mph, but I usually do 60mph in 4th so but when you hit a corner real fast, I usually(in mt cars) down shift to 2nd right away, let of the pedal and jam it right at the point of turning.........but now its like.......gotta get used to 3rd.......which isn't rly that good since it actually pwns u......

but yea, I rode in my friend(ironically enough silver 8 also) 4at, and his car seems a bit sluggish, maybe it was just old or something gt, I have a pic.......

the left is his, right is mine, I driven both..... maybe its all in my head but seems my car was faster.........
so there maybe luck for us 6spd ATs yet......lol

some use heat guns to loosen the existing tape, but i just use fishing line and floss them off kinda, just wear gloves so the line doesn't cut into your fingers. then re-stick them with 3M tape. I used semi flat black.
