Ok, now down to 3 ACTUAL cars... NOW which one??

All are grand tourings, all are discounted as far as the dealers will go.

#1) Velocity Red, Black leather, rear wing spoiler, Appearance package, spare tire kit, Rotary accent package.

Sirius Radio, Price is $27,380 MSRP was $34,149

#2) Brilliant Black, Sand Leather, no other options other than what comes with the GT package.

Price is $25,205 MSRP= $31,705

#3) Brilliant Black, Red and Black leather, Chrome stock wheels, Rear wing spoiler, cargo net

Price is $27,120 MSRP = $32,120

pros and cons in my book

#1) like the appearance package. spare tire kit is cool as is the rotary accent package. Sirius is nice. Cons? doesnt have the red and black interior otherwise it would be a winner hands down! 2) Black really IS badass in this car.

2) I think I like the tan interior, not too common, very classy looking.. Black is Badass.

Cons, black scares me sometimes, I can deal with cleaning and even if it gets dirty, black is way cool. Nothing looks hotter than a wet black car.. But I think there are lots of people who love to key a black car because its black. I have had two and both have been keyed! Still havent seen one with a tan interior so Im not sure how that will look..

Big plus is that its cheaper than the rest of them

at least the carpet isn't tan

3) LOVE the black red interior.. thats classy. Very very cool.

cons? same as the other black car..
This one isn't discounted as much as the others... ( only 5K)

So there you have it.. Now what do YOU think?

It's personal, but I can't stand dual coloured interiors. They look tacky and date quickly IMHO. Hard to beat a tasteful black interior and the velocity red is a lovely red.

number 2. you can add spoiler/appearance package on your own for cheaper if you want. sand leather is preference on your approach with the car though.

If you could get a BB w/ plain black int., that would be the best. Those 2-tone int. look too ricey. If you're into that, then go for #3. The sand interior on a BB can't match very well can it? I'm voting for #1.

Also, sack it up and buy one and stop starting new threads lol

The black one is an 06 Shinka....or should be....That interior only came in Shinka Models. Its cooler...I have a Copper Red Shinka with the same interior and I wouldn't change anything. They didn't come with the appearance package for the most part, but mine does have a spoiler, and is MT. The suspension is a bit stiffer as well.

You havent seen that interior in another black one because they only were out one year.

If you can buy it new for that price do it.

Actually, you are not correct.. The tan leather interior in the Shinka was also Alcantara and this is simply leather.

Now you ask, why are the prices not any lower? Well, first of all , they are about 4K off sticker + 3500 rebate. Here in California, there are very very few manual transmissions left. Perhaps about 10-14 of them. They seem to be selling well. Gas is dropping again and the new ones are making the old ones more popular. As usual there are lots of people that do not like what they did to the '09's.. me for example am not please at all.

So with inventory so low, and most dealers having at the most 1- units, they aren't THAT desparate yet.. And I do not want to get a used one.

To get technical the interior of the Shinka is called "Sand Alcantara Leather"..

Are you sure that the car is actually Brilliant Black and not a dark Black Cherry( deep purple) ...To my knowledge, and according to Mazda North American Operations, the ONLY light/tan leather or Alcantara interior was on these two "black" models. The other is the "Chapperell" which is black and brownish tan interior..IT has been in various colors, from Black to Nordic Green which is a dark almost Black Green in some lights as well.

The Stormy Blue which is a DARK Navy Blue has a light interior as well in some.

I'm simply basing my responses by the "facts" that you posted, and trying to give my opinion that you've asked for.

Again, the lighter interior will serve you better in the long run..but that is just my opinion.

its Brilliant Black for sure.. I have seen a few pictures of one with the tan interior but never in person. Why do you feel the lighter interior will serve me better?

lol, seriously. getting picky on the details of what color car and what color leather really shouldn't be everyone else's decision...you will have to deal with whichever you buy.

A lighter interior doesn't absorb the heat as a black one will.. I've had dark cars, not all black, but all with black interior and they were suffocating to get into on a very hot day..no matter where you live unless maybe in the UK or Canada.

Having the lighter interior in this car has been a blessing, trust me. I live in AL and the heat and humidity is horrid! I can leave my car, sitting in the sun for 3-4 days since she is not a daily driver, and then get in it and go at any given time or hour, with only about a 30 second air out time. The leather portions of my seats since they are the Sand Alcantara Leather are not scorching hot to my skin.

You mentioned seeing pics of the black and tan.... Like this? It's not alcantara, I wouldnt do that to you, I'm a nice person just trying to help.
You can see a bit of the interior with the sun coming in the sunroof.

I'll hunt you down guys!...........

Hey the man asked, and he's not been a jerk. Just looking for opinions, like we all do from time to time.

Ahhh thanks.. and yeah I know, its all about opinions and colro is one hell of a subjective subject.. What I am looking for is that one key trigger point that would make me say yes or no.. I guess I really don't give a rats *** about what color people LIKE but rather what what practical advice can be given such as seats that get hot or wear soon or look ugly after a couple of years or show hecka amounts of dirt... That kind of stuff.

And no, my mommy doesn't still take care of me.

The lighter seats......less heat....I've never heard in the 2 + years of being on this forum of any leather seats falling apart. That all depends on your preferences in how clean you keep your car.

well then,

dark seats light outside color..

done.

and i have enough years of experience to back that up.

i would go with silver. but then you are doomed.

The funny part about it all is that when I built my '08 mini cooper S convertible, I had a choice of saddle brown english leather or black english leather. My car is white and to me the brown looked too damn country club-ish and the black looked very sporting.

So I got the black and its not so bad in the heat actually.. Then again, we don't have the humidity like you do in Alabama.

That being said, I think I have eliminated one of my choices and that is the black with the red/black interior. To me the red just stands out a bit too much in the otherwise all black car. Its a very glossy red and while on a Velocity Red it would look great because it ties the exterior with the interior, it kinda looks a bit gaudy ( to me mind you) on a black car.

So its down to two. The black with tan or the Red with black interior...

Do I hate making decisions? Yes I do. No, I don't.. wait..Maybe..

Yea, the Leather seats don't fall apart. It wears but it doesn't wear out. Black Leather you can tell when it gets used. Leather shouldn't be shiny, it should look dull. But oily hands and the constant rubbing of your bottom on a seat makes it shiny. Most people don't care though.

really the option is leather seats or not.

leather really does not retain dirt. cloth does. outside! white gets dirty, but you cant tell.

own a black car for a while...

the wheel is round.

You have hit the nail on the head.. I LOVE THE SILVER.. But there is only one new one in the entire USA that I can bring into California and its a left over 2007 GT for 25K.

Its EXACTLY WHAT I WANT. But im not sure its worth it to bring it all the way over from Massachusetts and the dealer won't budge on the price.. ( well not the last time I spoke with him 4 weeks ago)

The silver would be my first choice for sure!

red and black are in a dead heat.

And what are you all doing up so late on a Sunday??? Hmmmmm? its 3:36 in the morning back east!!

ps.. my sons 9th birthday is the 18th... Happy birthday Daniel!! I love you little man!

PPs.. he loves the red and hes nuts for black cars but he reminds me of the last black car I had and how it got keyed badly...

for the win.. very right.
