Once you go black?
I love the look of the black interior but black shows scuffs and scratches more prominently and absorbs heat. So why is black the only interior choice?

To me, the three biggest problems with the car are all cosmetic (and minor). Scuff marks, brake dust, and of course, tailpipe gunk.
I hope they have a different door panel material for next year's model.

I really dislike all black interiors! The two-tone RX-8 interior isn't quite so bad, but I wouldn't like an all-black version at all for myself. Too dark and dreary, completely lacking in style and imagination! Monochromatic interiors in any colour are just bad design (like the above-mentioned blue and maroon). For me, the best interiors are lighter coloured, usually tan, with black elements like dash and door tops, and steering wheel. Some red interiors are alright too. Look at Audi for the best interiors from a design and colour standpoint!

Although there were leather color options (black, gray, or baseball optic) on my TT, only the seats changed color. In any case, the interior components (dash, console, etc) were always black with brushed aluminum accents. Although I think the baseball looked great (just not with a red exterior), I thought the gray was cheap (and almost GM) looking.
On the other hand, my old Z3 had a beige interior with beige leather. In that car, the dash and certain console components were beige...but I also had a wood dash (premium pkg) that covered up some of the monotony. Hands down choice over the all-black non-wood interior.
Every car is different. I can't imagine wood in the TT or even a beige dash. It's perfect as is. By the same token, I never liked the cheesy aftermarket "chrome" kits some people put in their Z3s. Sometimes the designers get it right....and then there's the Pontiac Aztek.

I love the black/CHapperelle interior as well. It gives a boost to the all black interior- I like the black trim in mine, but of course there is the dusty look everyone mentions and skuffmarks.
