One of Abbid's furry little friends!
OK, I think one of Abbids little furry rodent friends have taken up home in or around my RX8. Now I don't want to wait for the F***er to start stinking like Abbid's so I guess it's time to load up on mouse traps, with peanut butter, sticky S**t cards, make the cats sleep around my car and pray I don't get insulation particles flying out of my ducts! I'm not very happy about this!

OMG, that's just sick!
As of now, I don't have any vermin showing up. I started parking my car in a different place around the house every night. Tomorrow I go to Walmart and purchase a box of mousetraps. I want to stop the sucker before he gets back in. I will put 4 around each wheel and under the hood. I really want to bust his neck before he has a chance to start up serious housekeeping.

what the hell would he be looking for? do you leave sandwiches in your engine bay or something?
i reccomend that you go take a long hard drive and heat up your engine bay good to get rid of the sucker, and start parking your car in another place.
also, beachdog, do you have any first hand experience with these stickytraps??? did you have a mice problem, put sticky traps out only to find them the next morning with blood and a set of mice feet tacked on there?

Is there any other evidence of mice? I have bare patches on my insulation in about that same area, but I don't think it's from varmints.
When my folks lived up north, my mother requested I take a look at the heater fan in her Subaru, 'cause it quit spinning. Upon removal I found the squirrel-cage type fan jam-packed with bits of fiber from old carpeting or something.
You could tell the little bastards had been frequenting the engine compartment of her previous car, as they had been storing seeds and fibers in the cam cover in the depression between cams.

I thought you had an '05 now, but your washer fluid tank is black, not translucent white. Must be an early-production '05. What's your build date?
If you have the cats patrolling the area, be sure to do a kitty inventory before you start up - remember the other thread about a cat caught in the engine bay?

That's totally varmint-gnawing on your insulation... the rat that ate my radiator hoses left the exact same damage in the exact same spot as yours! Please, double check all your coolant hoses for gnaw marks. Run your fingers along them and feel for any rough spots. If the rodent started to gnaw them but didn't get all the way through, they could spring a leak while you're driving. That is not a good thing!
I now have ultrasonic critter repellers plugged into extension cords and placed directly under my two garaged cars' engine bays. I also removed all food sources from the garage and patched up all access points into the garage. Since doing all that, I've not seen any rodent evidence.

My wife is a VERY avid naturalists and feeds every one of Gods creatures that live on our place; squirrels, chipmunks, turkeys, birds of all kinds, raccoons, deer, cats (stray) and who knows what else… possums and I’m sure many mice picking up the remnants. This brings the coyote up which I wish would start eating all the varmints! I may just have to purchase a hermetically sealed garage just to protect my baby. To take a phrase from one of my earlier threads... “I think I’m screwed!”.
