actually you guys all wrong, torque and power varies depend on how deep you step on the gas pedal
the rule of thumb is to shift at given throttle opening when the torque curve start to roll off.

The good ol' ZX2, I thought I recognized your name from the old teamzx2 forum. I can't even remember what my name was over on that forum, it's been quite a few years since I went over there. Hell I had over 2000 posts over there too.

My ZX2 is somehow still kicking. I gave it to my parents to run into the ground when I got my RX8, but it's still running so I stored the RX8 at their house and took the ZX2 back for the winter. I hate everything about this car compared to the RX8 except for getting 35city/42hwy. I guess the SCT chip and intake were good for something other than noise!

Enough of my ramble, thanks for posting up the info!

The great thing about our cars is the fuel mileage sucks, but it doesn't get much worse. Take for instance my old 427 mustang. I was getting about 20mpg highway with very very careful driving in 6th gear. I was getting 8-10 on the track. Much like this car does now. BUT in the new mustangs they get 30 highway, and 8-10 pushing on the track a 20mpg difference.

No my 8 is getting 18 highway on average. and 12 track on average. So driving it normal which for me is multiple red lines a day, or driving on the track at redline only reduces mileage by 6.

So our car gets crappy fuel mileage, but it doesnt get worse when you pound on it.

Well, duh. This is for wide open, since that would give you the most acceleration. Anything less, and it's going to vary a lot.

Yeah, I still have my S/R. I don't have an 8 yet, but soon enough I will. The Z is pretty fun though. It's pretty close in specs (on paper anyways) to the 8, although it's not quite as fast in a straight line as the 8.

I think you have it backwords, the Z is faster in a straight line, the 8 is faster through the road course.
