Other car forums spreading misinformation about rotaries!
People on this forum think the rotary is unreliable and will blow up after 60K miles. 350z forum
How sad that people are so ingnorant of the truth. Oh well, I think the 350z will be a nice car and will probably perform better then RX-8, but I hate it when people sling the mud. We all know why we love rotaries so much. Just wait till the 7 returns! I'll just have to trade in my 8.

I think right now, the rotary will still have to prove itself to the general public and a lot of car enthusiasts. Although the Renesis is NA and shouldn't run as hot and should be more reliable, people still do remember the last rotary engine. The twin turboed one in the RX7 did seem to need new seals by ~60k. I know not every RX7 owner had problems, but many did. A couple past owners warned my good friend about it being finicky before he bought a used one last summer with ~45k miles on it. It was a really fun car, but let's just say, the car was blowing smoke and was rebuilt and sold before winter came around.
I'm not knocking rotaries. I'm seriously considering buying an RX8. But like Hyundai, it doens't matter if they have a huge warranty and the cars are supposedly more reliable, most people haven't forgotten their past reputation.

I had a 87 GXL with 160K on it and it ran like a champ till the day someone ran into me. The only problem I ever had with it was a water pump that went, but after replacing it and the radiator it was back to normal. As long as you water and oil it, it'll last forever.
