Our 8 is in
The dealer called today to report that our Winning Blue M/T w spoiler is in. We will pick it up on Thursday. The dealer is 125 miles from home. Any suggestions on how to properly drive (for break in) the 125 freeway miles home?

Tow it home and break in in the city. or....
Vary your speed (vary your RPMs but not to high)
Let your engine do the breaking (let off the gas and don't use the brakes when you vary your speeds and RPMs)
That should do it for ya.

Congrats!! I'm jealous!!
Keep it under 6k RPM and vary the speeds while driving on the highway.

1) Try to stop smiling! Focus on the road.
2) Have fun
3) I kept my rpms below 5000.
4) DONT bring your favorite CD - the engine is the best symphony!
5) Tell the group about your drive home!
Congrats!

yeah pics are definitely in order..
make sure you get a clearbra or car bra for the car while it's new... if you're making it a daily driver.. the front is gorgeous, hate to see it get marred by anything..

Well we picked it up in the rain. Kind of a bad omen. It rained all day. I have been living in my home for over 12 years and and I have never witnessed flood water standing in the streets. Guess what? When we finally got home at 7:30 pm both entrances to our subdivision were flooded. We didn't drive in it though. We waited till it went down.
On the positive side the deal was flawless. The dealer and car were prepared and we were in and out in an hour, and this was a phone deal.
Coming home it stopped raining a few times and we actually saw the sun once for a few miles. The car is much better than I expected. Those who diss the power of the RX8 are just jealous.
I only had it up to 5k rpms a copuple of times and 99% of the time below 4k, but I could feel the power lurking just waiting to get out.
I am very impressed and my wife is ecstatic! Zoom Zoom Zoom

Miles of smiles!
Funny thing, I picked mine up on a rainy night. It stopped raining shortly before we drove it home, but the roads were still real wet, much spray. What's really kind of strange is that it hasn't been out of the garage in the rain since. Well, maybe not all that strange afterall...
