Owned a Miata now a RX-8

My first car was a 99 Miata fully loaded, I learned how to drive manual with it. I only owned it for 6 months but put 30 000km on it. Now I have a 2004 RX-8 and it’s a Miata x2. It breaks accelerates and corners so well and is more forgiving in the corners. It’s unbelievable how forgiving it is compared to my Miata. There’s a road near my house and a corner I always used to go around, with the Miata if I hit the yellow line while cornering aggressively it would break lose and always had to throw in tons of counter steer to save from going off the road. I became very aware of this and always made sure not to touch the lines while cornering aggressively, with the 8 I was going around the same corner and cornering aggressively I hit the yellow line. I was expecting it to let go and was worried, but just a simple chirp of the tires as I crossed the line and regained traction with out any steering input. This car is just so forgiving and I’m so happy that I have this amazing car. I loved my Miata more than any man should love a car, but I love my RX-8 more, so much that I’m going to start auto crossing to curb my urge to drive aggressively on the streets.

Either way I'm glad the RX8 is being used properly.

Welcome my fellow Ontario resident. Don't worry, the RX8 will enable you to communicate using perfect sentence structure.

...don't let this and the upcoming smartass comments deter you from staying on here, it's a great site.

I too had a Miata, great car, but you'll find (or already have) that the 8 is at another level.

Thanks. It’s really intimidating being a new member of any forum. Low post counts = idiot, while in fact post counts have very little to do with the knowledge and ability to add useful info to the forum. I’ve noticed that a certain member with a very high count that seems to be very ignorant and contributes very little useful information to this forum.

Would you please add punctuation to your post so that it reads as sentences because I tried reading what you wrote having once owned a Miata myself in fact I owned three before I got my 8 but try as I might I just couldn't get past the the first couple of lines because I was rapidly developing a headache from having to struggle with your amazingly long run on sentence that just kept going and going and going if you know what I mean and while I realize it's faster and easier to write without using commas emdashes and periods it's really not fair to others who might want to read what you have to say I mean I could certainly write faster if I didn't bother with punctuation but I do it anyway as a courtesy to the other human beings who might want to read what I have to say okay thanks and good luck with your 8 I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with it and won't miss your Miata hardly at all.

Yes, thanks for adding the punctuation!

As I said, I had 3 Miatas. You'll love the 8! The only time I miss the Miata is on a beautiful day (or night) when I want to put the top down. But most days and nights aren't all that beautiful. And on long trips/interstate travel, the 8 wins, hands down.

Yes, the 8 handles extremely well and is easy to drive fast. I think that is one of the strong points of the car and is often over looked. Enjoyable driving isn't entirely about muscle-car horsepower.

I miss that as well. To alleviate this I plan on getting a bike spring 08, as long as I can be responsible with the 8 and not receive any tickets.

The main reason I didn’t get another miata was I hated not having enough room to bring my friends with me, always having to borrow my parents van. There’s nothing more annoying having a nice new toy at home and arriving places in a 96 windstar lol.
