What's a Grand Tourism? Will people come to see my car on their vacations?

why settle for less.
'Cos I neither want nor need heated electric gewgaws or 1.21 Gigawatts of Bose. Just give me HID lamps so I can't outdrive the headlights. If the HID lights were available as a separate line item, I probably wouldn't even have bothered with the DSC. At least it's switchable.

I was debating between the touring and the sport packages. The GT was too rich for my blood, especially after I heard having heated seats makes you feel like youre wetting yourself. The thing that finally made the decision was seeing the picture of an RX-8 driving down the road with its sunroof open, yuck. Give me the light base, with the grippy seats and the lightest weight please.

Sports Package for me. I don't like sitting on cows, Bose speakers sound like hell and they are overpriced. I wish I could get heated mirrors though.

It was -13 degree here a few days ago. I don't care if heated seats make the RX weigh as much as a fat cow 350Z :p -- give me my Grand Touring package with all the goodies :D

Just thinking though -- I may miss the manual choke on my old RX-7 and the loud backfire that was inevitable in really cold weather.

Standard 6spd. All the go-fast parts come standard on this car.

Sports...Going all performance. No need all of the extra luxuries. Less luxuries = less weight. Remember this is supposed to be a performance car not a luxury car. :D

This is my pre-emptive mid-life crisis car. So, not only must it excite, but must ensconce me in beauty, also. Hence, the GT with 2-tone leather. And I was wishing my 240 had heated seats the other morning when it was like 12 degrees.

Seriously, though, my 91 FC had leather seats that were fabulous. It was tight and plenty grippy. No way I wouldn't get leather in my RX-8.

GT. I keep a car until it falls apart around me, so I might as well enjoy it to the fullest

I was torn between an RX-8 and the 350Z. Went to the Detroit car show on 1/17 and immediately fell in love with the RX-8. It looks incredible in the flesh. Much better than in pictures!!

Ordered mine on 1/28/03. Went for the touring package due to the fact that heated seats, heated mirrors, and faux (a.k.a. fake) leather door inserts don't really appeal to me. Sure, the leather seats would look nicer....maybe if the seats were a separate (cheaper) option I could justify it but the extra frills just didn't warrant a $1200 premium in my opinion.

Salesman didn't know diddly about the car.

Anyone familiar with Homelink???

Try the Homelink website

Edit: After researching on their website, I got more excited about this. We are planning on selling our house (too small) and having a bigger one built. In addition to CAT-5 and maybe fibre strung throughout the house, I am now planning on using Homelink compatible components for the garage door, door locks, and lighting. I am a little wary about the door locks, though. If my wife forgets her remote in the Santa Fe (basic security system), someone could break into it and have free access to our house.

Homelink will work with nearly every garage door opener, and will interface with alarm systems that are homelink capable... they just find the rolling code that your remote transmitter gives off and re-emit it. Brilliant thing really
