Doubt it. The dealer will likely do it, but not for free. It's cheap & easy to do yourself. And more fun.

there was some talk about dealers painting the inner part of the rotor that rusts, not the calipers.

I just had my rotors done under warranty and when I asked they wouldnt do the calipers with it for free. Then again it seems like every dealer has their own rules so who knows what your dealer might say. My car is also BB and I also need to get around to doing the calipers. I'm leaning towards the black with the red RX-8. It will probably be awhile before I get around to it and the rotors will re-rust by then.

I think black-red, black-blue, black-green, black-yellow, or black-black would all look good.

Yeah the combinations are endless, but the original topic asks our opinion of which we think would look best.

It really takes no skill. The only difficult part is contorting yourself a bit to get all of the surface covered. (And some have removed the caliper to paint it, thus avoiding laying on the ground) I bought the paint & jackstands, pulled all four tires and picked up my brush. The hardest part about it is not driving it for at least 24 hrs. Honestly, stands & paint together will probably cost you a little more than it would cost to have someplace else do it. Until you factor in touch up jobs every year or two.

^ i agree with dmc. I did mine two at a time over two weekends. The biggest things to remember: the cleaner you get them before painting, the longer it will last. Caliper brake paint kits come with a can of brake cleaner. Also, keep the coats thin...they will dry better and faster and be more durable. It's very tempting to glob it on right away because the first coat really looks like it's transparent. By the time you finish with one and are onto the second, it's usually time to go back to the first one for the next coat (and so on).

I'd go black with Polaks mazdaspeed caliper stickers... Here's a pic of mine(red) looks sick.. make sure you put the stickers on when the paint is a little tacky to help with adhesion.. they are a bit dirty though not to bad..

Also, whatever color you choose be sure to go with the G2 caliper paint... It holds up so much better than engine paint and that crappy duplicolor ****.

Yes, go black. Looks cleaner. Caliper is so dinky painting it doesnt do too much for appearance IMO.

Its obvious what color I went with.. I was surprised at the reaction I get from guys, they actually like it.... They have held up really well too... I used my own secret blend for the color.

Someone have a link to a good guide for doing this? I imagine it is about the same as doing a brake job, i.e. taking off the wheel and then the caliper. Do I need to do any masking or sanding? I need high-temperature paint, right?

Something with pictures would be fantastic.
