Picked up my New RX-8
Well today I picked up my RX-8, first off, it's a totally SWEET CAR. It's Nordic Green Mica, 6 speed of course (first manual I've owned) It has a whole 130 miles on it as of right now, and I have a few plans for it in the future. Such as carbon fiber hood, body kit, a drag wing, and some aftermarket rims.
It's been pretty interesting driving my first manual, I stalled it out about a dozen times today just getting used to the clutch, I've gone from 2nd to 5th about 3 times, and well I'm picking it up rather quickly. I'm hoping to have the clutch and shifting down by friday or saturday, but it's just a totally overall sweet car, and I love everything about it.
Also I read a thread about flooding, what causes this problem, and also my dealer told me to let the car warm up for about 5 minutes before driving off, and to let it cool down after driving for a few minutes. Now my question is, is this only an issue during the winter, or is it also an issue during the summer as well ? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

cjs, great choice - congrats, and go easy on the transmission, will ya? :D
As for flooding, you are best off doing a search and reading what you can of the many posts on this subject, as there is much to learn (and some to ignore). People are a bit loathe to start a new thread on an exhausted subject - but the short answer is yes, temperature does seem to have an effect, as an engine will warm up faster (less chance of flooding) the warmer it is outside. People in warm climates have however experienced flooding, so there are no guarantees.
