ok people this is your chance to do something good for a meember of our armed services, during the holidays. lets find this part!

it is the front lateral link for the left rear wheel without DSC, part # F151-28-550A.

now pilot we need to know where you are city-wise so we can get some time in transit info for you. people start calling your service depts. there must be another wrecked rx-8 out there by now that we might be able to salvage the part from.

Zoom44...I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. I am currently located in Lafayette Indiana. I'd be happy to pay rush shipping from anywhere in the states. The best my dealership has been able to tell me is that there is supposed to be a shipment somewhere in between here and Japan. I'm emailing MazdaUSA right now.

Thanks again for your help!

Justin

My orders for Texas are for 2 Jan 04. Do you have contact info for you dealership that I could give to mine...they don't seem to have any sort of idea when they might get one.

Thanks again for the help Zoom44...its times like these that remind me why I'm so proud to serve our country.

ok ive had 2 emails from Marshall at Trussville. these guys are great and the rest of the dealership service departments could learn alot about customer service from them. here are the replies from trussville:

Charlie,
Unfortunately, this part is on National Back order, which means that Mazda
has 0 at all of the US warehouses right now.
I also checked stocking dealers in the US and there are none.
I will try to check with Mazda and see if any are on the way from Japan.
The customer needs to make sure that whoever the dealer is that has this
part on order for him has it on a " Holtine" Backorder with Mazda to make
sure it is on the highest priority order that Mazda has.

and
Charlie,
Mazda says that they have a few coming to the U.S. in about a week or so, it is hard to say exactly how long because of customs and such...
Let me know what he finds out about if his is on a hotline order or just a regular order

he then emailed to say he was headed home for the night but would be in to work in the morning. so find out if your dealer has it on order and if it is a priority "Hotline" order. that way you'll go to the head of the list.

if you would like to contact marshall yourself his email is parts@trussvillemazda.com

I will call my dealership tomorrow morning and find out if I am indeed "hotline" or not. Sounds like these guys at Trussville might be able to help out. I'll post again as soon as I know something.

If there is some way that I can thank you for your help, please let me know.

well the folks at mazdarecycling have not yet got any rx-8's in. so that's a dead end.

okinawan thanks for stepping up with the offer to help. i have been told that the part is on bo, that there are none at any of the stocking dealers in the states and that there wont be until at least dec. 22nd. if you have the part speak up because it does not show in any mazda database. it is the front lateral link for the left rear wheel without DSC, part # F151-28-550A.

Mazda says the shipment will hit Sacramento California on the 23rd. I emailed back inquiring about express shipping my stuff. If they can get it here shortly after Chrismas, I should be alright. An Army buddy of mine has loaned me his car for Christmas to get back home to the family...guess those Army guys are alright after all! :D Thanks for all the help again guys...I'm still gonna keep looking in case the date Mazda gave me is wrong.
