please help me out with this rx8 issue
im looking to buy the 2005 shinka edition its in good (6.5 out of 10) as far as body work is concerned i there are dents which is why i gave it a lower score the engine seems fine it is being sold by a mazda dealer. it has 59,000 miles on it and it has had 4 owners the dealership replaced a lot of parts before attempting to sell this car, such as the radiator and spark plugs and wires and such, it also has a few dings aaround the car, but for the most part other then that it is in good shape i drove it and it drives nice i gave 500 deposit for the guy to hold on to the car for me for a few days or a week wile i decide, but the delema i have is.... 59,000 miles vs 15000 dollar asking price i dont quite understand why the price is soo high because its "shinka model" which other then the suspension is absolutly no different then the other models but deffinaty not that expensive i live in New Jersey and the car is being sold in Easy Brunswick at a mazda dealer and he told me he would give me 8 year/100,000 mile warrinty and the mazda cirtification stamp of approval for 15000 but the thing is im thinking about saying give it to me for 14,000 with the stamp and the warrinty and if you cant do that then see ya later
what do you think because the dealership got it off a repo auction 2 months ago so they obviously got it for dirt cheap prob like 7000 ish 8000 ish soooo give me your opinions...........
also i want to know is this car worth it really for a 18/19 year old driver lookin for a car to look fresh... drive well be able to drive kidna hard.... yet at the same time put some money in it to make it look nice i want it to be dependable what do you suggest? also why do people hate rotar engines soo much whats the counter argument to that because everyone i say is ohhhh no you dont want a rotor engine!!!! nooo way where did they get such a bad rep and why?

also as far as mileage goes since the car revs high... it needs to be driven hard ... "like you stole it" then what does that equate too as far as in terms of a piston engine so would 59,000 miles equal like 80,000 or 90,000 miles in terms of drive it like you love it .... or is the engine designed to be driven that way so that it does last or no? im kinda of confused please inform me im an rx8 / rotary engine noob you could say haha

I would let that one go, i think thats too much if it has dents all over, dealer changed parts on it and has had 4 owners, theres something obvisally wrong w/ this car. and you can get 8 year 100k on any rx8 thats standard now. Ive seen many rx8's 05' that same price range w/ way lower miles and 9- outa 10 for looks w/ one owner, look around and you might be able to find an 06 or another o5 w/ lower miles and less abuse. thts my two cents

FWIW I paid $12.9k for my '05, 32k mile, 1 owner GT w/ Nav 8, that I would rate 8-9 out of 10, it's got a clean bill of health from the service report and ALL '05's have an 8 year/100k (on the engine core) so he's doing you no favors.
Not a good deal and some iffy stats on that one me thinks.

I would stay away from that. The dealer is trying to act like the 8 year/100k warranty is something he is hooking you up with ? It's a standard on all 04-08 engines. That's the first clue that something is shady with him, the dealership, and the car.

Wow what a horrible deal.. The car is worth about half that. Nice cheap 8's can easily be found, you've just gotta be patient. Think of that $500 as one of his fingers in your ***, but luckily you can pull it out rather than continue on with the rape.

Like I said on the other thread asking the same thing. 4 owners, walk away. Now the real hard part begins, you actually gave the dealer $500 to hold this car? Have you ever tried to get a deposit back from the dealer...good luck kid.
So in summary. 1) Bad deal walk away. 2) Good luck getting money back. 3) Is it a good idea for a 19 year old kid to be driving this type of car?

Forget that one, you could get one for a much better price or same price for better conditions.
Mileage isn't a problem with this car, the engine's built to be driven at 9k RPMs, it's actually not as good for the engine if you don't redline every now and then. I've seen these cars go well beyond 100k+ for mileage and still in good condition, but that's only if they were maintained properly. THis car you're considering that has had 4 owners? that deal is a bit sketchy
