please help newbie choose his colour!

Guys, please help this newbie choose his colour!

I am absolutely torn between yellow and gray, i just want to get one quick so i can drive it and share my experiences

these are my observations:

when I first saw the yellow rx-8:
I was like, wow, incredible i can't believe how good this looks

when i first saw the gray rx-8:
I was like, wow, what a classy car, great lines

I feel yellow is hot, but have an inkling that gray will still be looking good in four years whereas maybe yellow would be too vibrant, correct me if i am wrong!

I love the two tone leather in gray, but just black is fine too!

Don't let others peoples opinions sway you if you like the yellow get it. Opinions are like you know what...

If you are more conservative go with the gray. If you want the stares (cops included) get the yellow. Cops have pulled in behind me twice at the gas station just to check out the car. Luckily they haven't siad anything about the tint (35% allowed in TX).

Don't let the dealer see how quickly you are willing to purchase. They may and try and get you to sign a deal you're not completely happy with.... BTW, gray!! But, it's your car, get what YOU like.

I took my test drive in a yellow and it just didn't click with me. The problem was the all-black interior was just too much of a black hole, especially compared to the vibrant exterior. Having spent the last 13 years with an all-black interior I wanted something lighter. I want some eye candy inside too! The 2-tone leather appealed in that regard and I was considering one of the models with the tan leather. Then I saw a pic of the Yellow decked out with 2-tone yellow/black interior and my eyes popped! That's just what the yellow needed for balance, imo. Then I realized I could do the same with aftermarket leather. That dovetailed with the fact that I would need to limit myself to the sport package in order to get the extra headroom, and I wanted leather. So, yellow sport it is, and will be fitted with yellow/black leather interior once I get it.

I wonder why the Edit function doesn't allow you to attach images. Sorry for the double-posting...

anyway here's an example that was being auctioned on Ebay a few weeks ago....

I won't participate in this poll... I bought the gray, but (1) there was not an AT/NAV yellow available anywhere when I was buying and (2) every single one of my friends was very vocal about not buying the yellow. That narrowed it down for me, but... I think the yellow is beautiful. You've got too good choices - flip a coin.

wow, thanks for the picture, the two tone leather for yellow looks sweet...

how much more would one expect to pay for ordering special leather?

and does yellow get dirty very easily or is it no big deal?

Not a big deal. Doesn't show dirt as bad as the darker colors.

Planning on having it done through the dealer, based on the job done on one of the showroom vehicles -- quality looked very good. I forget the name of the upholstery shop that does the work. The price quoted was $1200 for the seats and inserts. They won't touch the steering wheel though

I don't know if it gets dirty any faster; you'd think so but I've known other people with light-colored leather interiors and they looked good. But maybe they spent a lot of time cleaning

I always loved the yellow RX-7. There are only a few cars worthy of yellow. Most manufacturers have a terrible yellow. I'm normally conservative, but when I saw the yellow, there was no question. It almost brings out the unconservative side of you. And there is no doubt that it will turn more heads. If your gut says yellow, go for it. If your gut says gray, get yellow.

Go with green. Have yet to see another one on the road or at the dealer where I bought mine!

yeah get the Nordic Green one
I've seen plenty of red grey yellow blue silver black ones already
but so far,
i don't think I've seen a single green on the road in my life

the grey is too common
and the yellow is a cop magnet
of course, if you dont' plan on breaking any rules, then yellow would be great

when i first saw the yellow, i thought it was kinda ugly
but then
after seeing on the road several times
it gets more and more beautiful looking for some reason

so if i had to choose between yellow and grey, i'd choose yellow.

I am surprised that Lock & Load from the Gold Coast has not said anything about his colour choice yet? Right L&L? Yellow is the go and YELLOW ROCKS?
