I never put the thing in my wallet. I don't think it's made to, as it might get sat on. I just keep it in my pants pocket, and I have gotten spoiled by the convenience of it.

I don't even carry a wallet. Sits in my left front pocket with my money clip. On the right front pocket is my cell. Those are the only things I really need to carry around with me. And I love this thing...I hate carrying keys

I love the credit car key. It really makes starting the car so much easier. Nothing to fiddle around with and I hate the sound of dangling keys while I'm driving.

I love it. No more key scratches (not even on the stainless door lock areas!). Amazing how the car reacts to where the key is located inside (like if its in the compartment) or outside. My favorite is the trunk sensor and the well-hidden switch.

Oh and how other RX-8 owners (non-GT or pre-'06) wish they had it

+1 I have a friend who has an '05 and he asked how my 8 was doing. I told him about the key and he didn't know about it. I showed it to him and he was like "wtf! How come I didn't get one of these" Then all our friends started ragging on him how he got jipped

A credit card entry is no good.

It's easy to tap into that security and over ride it.

The current keyless entery system is much better.

Besides how in the hell am I going to carry a credit card when I'm at the beach?

I love the keyless entry system, but I don't really like the form factor Mazda has chosen. I prefer the ones Mitsubishi uses which are much less wide and tall and maybe 3-4 times thicker. It's basically just like a key fob. I still have to carry keys to get into my house and the credit card style device doesn't fit well on a key chain.

Define easy...and if someone really wanted to steal your car, I'm pretty sure they will succeed with either keytype.

I thought the point of the key was so that it wouldn't be bulky. My house keys never go in my pocket. I leave them in the car and just take them out when I get home. The credit card key doesnt need to fit well on key chain.

I had the credit card type key on a car several years ago. It was a nice feature but i certainly don't miss it. I like having a traditional key.

I think the best part of having this credit card key is being able to walk away from the car and it locks itself!

I like the credit card keyless entry. It never leaves my pocket and is quite slim, making it very unobtrusive (unlike most keychain "collections").

Also agree, love the keyless entry and the trunk release. I keep my fob in front shirt pocket, never sit on it. All's good.

Have you guys ever have trouble with the string coming off the credit card? In both of mine a little yank took both of them off and I can't get it back on. not a huge deal because I don't put it on a chain, but still kinda annoying.

i've had the problems with the button not working, and the red key light comes on, but i've always been able to turn the car on.

I had a '07 Camry before this and they had the same system, so I was already used to it...but yes i guess i am spoiled by it xD

I really like that key but you have to be careful to put your wallet/key on the other pocket than your phone otherwise it will interfere. It is not an issue for me, but I know before I used to put the key in the wallet, it sometimes happened that it ended up next to the phone.

I still have to get the dealer to configure my key so that it locks the doors after three seconds of exiting/closing the doors. Any way to do that yourself?

that's a picture of the credit card key, basically you can just have it in your pocket and press the button on your door(s), and your car will automatically lock/unlock. It also automatically locks the door after you close the door and the key is out of the range of the sensor.

ummm 3-5m atleast?...mine stopped working a while ago.. so I'm bringing it in to the dealership to check on it, but aside from that proximity sensor and stuff, everything else functions like an actual remote. Oh, and you don't need to shove the key into the key-hole or w.e to start the car, just turn the *** =). don't know if they had that on older models
