pontiac g8 is a suitable sedan replacement for the 8(razz was right)

this car was infuckingcredible. i absolutely loved it. you'd think for weighing nearly 4000lbs it moved and stopped like an ape. not at all. i rarely ever felt the weight of the car. it was nimble on its feet, it even has less body roll than an rx8. (thanks to its stiffer suspension). also due to the stiffer suspension is the harsher ride, but thanks to its longer wheelbase its not bad at all. the interior is nice as well. no complaints. trunk space is nice. seating position is good.

and that engine. omfg. i was pulling out of the dealership and i already nearly creamed my pants. you can be going just 5mph and you know it. you feel it. the torque, the power. its there. it has nearly 300lbs/ft of torque at 1k rpm. its mangasmic.

the biggest reason why i did not trade my 8 in? no manual transmission.

honestly, if it had a manual. it is that good of a replacement. also, i might be too young for this car. it seems to have a look of upper 20s and +. at 21, the rx8 definitely suits me better.

but it is sexy. it is incredible. if anyone is interested in a sedan with real power, similar gas mileage (better though), and comparable handling (but the 8 wins), the pontiac g8 is definitely worth test driving.

i left a very conflicted man.

did i mention its sexy?

I wish it wasn't a GM.... Oh well, what are you gonna do. Why were you considering trading the 8 anyways?

I think it looks alright, I went to the mall and saw it for some contest thing, walked around it and it didn't seem that bad, and it was white! And it has flower wheels

Need moar stick. If you enjoy actually driving and not just pushing a pedal, wait for a manual transmission. I swear, for as long as i have 2 good arms and 2 good legs, I will not pay money for a car with a ******* slushbox.

It was a good write-up, kersh.

That feeling of power and torque is what kept gnawing at me when I test drove the GTO. I waited 3 months, and all that time, I was thinking about it. It's kind of tough to shake once you experience it...

I'm going to have a hard time deciding whether to get a new Camaro SS, or a G8 GXP.... if Mazda gets the 16X out, an RX8 R3 would definitely be in the running as well. I'd love to get back into an RX8, but not at the cost of having a car that can't trap 100mph in the quarter stock.

Your comparing apples to oranges. I suppose if you want to replace an apple with an orange your on the right page. the 8 is a genuine sports car with an engine perfectly suited for the Job. The G8 is a modern muscle car sport sedan with an engine suited for the job. If you like both You should buy both. One cannot replace the other in purpose or build.

no, but one can replace the other if your needs change and you need a full blown sedan. which is why i said, "suitable sedan replacement." reading comprehension ftw. key words being: suitable and sedan. please go look both of those up in the dictionary.

i know for a fact you havent test driven one, which is why you are all like, "omfg the rx8 4evaarrrr." do yourself a favor, test drive one. if you dont like it, at the very least it will reaffirm your love for the rx8.

I comprehend that it's not a suitable sedan replacement because the 8 is not big enough to be a suitable sedan or thought of as such. Compare the G8 to cars in it's own class. GM also tends, through history, to produce cheap muscle cars with alot of flash and power that do not equal the road worthiness and quality control of their counterparts even within their own company. In other words, funny boi, you get what you pay for. I'd go with the Charger R/T instead. I don't trust GM muscle cars except for the vette.

A suitable sedan replacement for the 8 to me would be a 335i or xi or an M3, oh maybe an S4 but they are a bit nose heavy.

This can me interpreted in many ways. Sure the G8 is a suitable sedan replacement. So is say an Audi A4 or a Honda Civic (for gas mileage needs) or a Cobalt or Toyota Camry. It is no more suitable replacement as the others who traded in their rx8 for a Mazdaspeed3, IS350, 335i, Civic, F150, Hayabusa... needs changed.
I have no doubt the G8 is a wonderful car. If it works for you great. Someone needs to help save GM. I'm a 'vette kinda fella.

hmm... i dunno. it's kinda fugly though.

would u drive/ buy a Prius if it performed like an M3?

there has to be a compromise in there somewhere... but, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. so, if u think it's a hot car, that's all that matters.

I would call the G8 conservative/bland before I would call it ugly and don't believe its anywhere near a Prius as far as ugliness. I personally think it looks rather good (especially for a Pontiac) with excellent proportions.

GM took the tranny and engine out of the $70g corvette and put it in what looks like a beefed up G6. Would you trust it's structural integrity and engineering under those kind of power gains and stresses? I woudn't.

Its based on the RWD platform called Zeta designed and originating from Australia (Holden) which is totally different from a G6. This also is what the new Camaro is based on. Like anything else, I would educate myself a little bit about a car before I would make baseless assumptions on structural integrity and engineering.

OMG, there are so many things questionable about your post I'm not sure where to start.
